Canaries and dustballs. [complete]

Content: Jay is boredly roaming around the docks, with his wings out despite the attention it'll draw. Though it probably does him one good thing with having them out...
Setting: The general area of the docks.
Time: Mid-Monday
Warnings: Jay's a big emo canary and Sooraya is a not-so emo dustball, so.
Well, at least he got all this open space to roam around in... And with his wings out, he only got odd stares, not any hate thrown at him or anything like that. Jay stretched and ruffled his wings like any normal bird would, folding them a little to keep them out of the way of passerby's who were around him near the docks. He'd left his stuff in his sleeping area of the Artemis' Bow, and decided he prefered being outside at the moment. It wasn't that bad out, so he wasn't too worried about getting caught in bad weather or starting to freeze... Reaching a hand back he scratched at the inside of his wing, sighing and puffing some hair out of his face.
Why did the school have to go to hell and back? And why couldn't miss Frost just cool things over like she always did? That irritated him a little that she would just up and split after the Cuckoos got into a problem over their rankings. But he guessed he'd run from his problems before, and so everyone had their own chances to do so. He sucked in a deep breath of sea salted air, wondering if he could get used to the smell and the feelings--being on the ship caused him some balance problems, even when it was supposed to be unmoving--that came with being a... pirate. The pirates were different from the Powers, but they still were sort of bad guys, though he did figure it was... fitting, for the most part.
Not many people had given him dirty looks for his wings, and he was starting to appreciate this a little more.
