Content: Instead of mingling with the new recruits at the Queen's Wineskin, the kunoichi decides to remain on board and stare out at the sea in contemplation.
Setting: The Hajimaru's crow's nest.
Time: Dusk, Sunday.

Wind, darkness, silence--she was used to all these elements. The sea too was not unfamiliar, but she had never been by it for prolonged hours. Now, that will change; she was going to embark on a new voyage into new lands, to see new faces, to taste new things... that's what she needed: renewal. Months of anguish always begged for that kind of thing.
The wind picked up and blew around the nest, causing Ayame to tighten the dark, wide scarf around her arms and neck that helped break the lashing air currents. She was pretty high up to be getting this kind of wind. Shutting her eyes, she thanked her scarf's owner, Rikimaru. He had given it to her as a departing gift. 'You'll bring that back to me, okay?' he sternly reminded before she left. She had simply sighed, rolled her eyes, and shook her head in response to whom she almost considered her brother. Allowing a soft chuckle, she leaned on sun-bleached wood railing of the crow's nest and gazed out at the endless sapphire plain surrounding her vision.
Below was the powerful sound of crashing waves, but from where she was it was a soothing sound like the one you would hear in seashells. It eased her like a stroked cat. Shutting her eyes again, she tuned her hearing to the most sensitive of sounds. The rustle of leaves, the calls of fishermen hauling in their day's catch, the bells of cruising bicycles, the crunch of earth beneath the rapid steps of playing children. It was, to say the least, refreshing. How long had it been since she actually felt tranquility?
Raising her head, her eyes reflected the burning sunset. Her lips spread into a small but rejuvenated and adventurous smile.
"Maybe....maybe my luck will change..." she shook her head, then nodded as she corrected herself. "No....it will."
