Okay, there was no denying it. He had no idea what the hell he was supposed to be doing. Masaru groaned, tapping his head with his logbook. He couldn't keep lying like this, sooner or later someone would notice. Sure, it wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would sure as hell be embarrassing.
He had one option left: just ask someone else. There was another boatswain on board, and he sounded like he knew what he was doing. Still, the thought of admitting defeat wasn't a pleasant one. Maybe he could get some hints and figure it out on his own without embarrassing himself, if he was subtle about it. Either way, it would still be a good idea to find the other boatswain. Dropping his logbook beside his other belongings, Masaru headed up to the deck. that was a good place to start.
