So, last night, Laura was judging auditions for a high school band teacher friend and I was home with the inlaws. I decided to try and be nice and get some laundry done. I put a load in and got it the dryer before Laura got home. Now, when it rains a lot (A la the remnants of Hurricane Gustav) our basement can get some water in it. So, there was water in the usual places. When I grabbed the towels out of the dryer I almost stepped on what I thought was a twig. However, it was like a 10 inch lizzard or newt or some other creature with a tail. I about stepped on it when it moved and I actually yelped. Laura ran down to see what was wrong and I yelled "There's a lizard down here". She thought I was joking, but Laura's dad came down with a broom and we swept it up into a box and let it go in the drainage ditch by the road.
OK, don't lizards and such hatch from eggs?? Would there be more around or was he incredibly lost!? Just wondering.
