[002] [action]

[Anyone wandering through town can find Angel pressed up against the wall in the thin strip of shade on the outside of some random house. He'd been on his way home, I swear, but the sun had caught him outside. Now he's just trying not to get burned. Six hours later, and he's getting stiff. Talk to the poor guy?]

[Well, that certainly looks inconvenient. Have a viera stopping by for a look.]

Something the matter?

[Well. Bunny ears. This is new, but probably no newer than his vampire-face would be to her. Though he's still uncomfortably clos to the wall, he tries to sound at least remotely casual:]

Nothing new... Can't touch the sun.

Can't?

[No vampires in Ivalice, see?]

[Ah. How to explain this?]

In direct sunlight, I... Well, I burst into flame.

[He glances down at his hand, which he'd used the day before when he'd first arrived as a guinea pick to see if the sun had the same effect here. Though it's quickly healing, there are still some remnants of what very much resembled bad acid burns.]

[She follows his glance to his hand, but doesn't make a comment on it. No stranger to any number of wounds, she.]

An unfortunate inconvenience, that.

Yeah... I just have to wait until nightfall.

[Now, way to be a hypocrite, Angel, but he just has to ask:]

Your ears?

[She seems intelligent enough to understand that he's asking why she has them, what she is, but he doesn't want to outright ask. With his way with words, it'd come out rude.]

They are trait all viera have in common.

[Ah. He'd never heard of viera before... It piqued his curiosity, and were he not acutely aware of being pressed up against a wall (that kinda killed smalltalk, see), he'd ask her more. For now:]

The problem with sunlight... It's a trait my kind have in common.

[She'll be around later if he wants to ask more about viera]

What kind would that be?

[Does she enjoy meeting at night? He's a little... occupied, meanwhile.]

I'm not sure how much the word will mean to you... But I'm a vampire.

[She wouldn't mind too horribly.]

It is not an entirely unfamiliar term, at the least.

You've heard of it?

[Yet he'd never heard of a viera? Was it a sort of lesser-known demon? She didn't seem demonic...]

[ooc: TAKE NO OFFENSE. Strange and not human or vampire usually equates to demon, in Los Angeles.]

In reference to steelings, yes.

((None taken~))

[His brow furrows slightly now.]

Steelings?

It is a type of monster native to Ivalice.

[This he thinks about for a moment. Then:]

A vampire is a monster native to the planet Earth.
