due for an update, perhaps

Wow, so I really feel like a lot has been going on lately.  Hardly had a night to myself, way behind on my laundry (which will get done tonight, dang it!), and generally just feeling busy.

This last weekend was pretty eventful, in some ways that I expected and in others that I did not.  #1 was Shenoa's fateful arrival in Seattle on Thursday.  The apartment that she was planning on moving into "fell through" to put it simply (dirty, tiny, overpriced piece of crap) and so she is now homeless, currently staying with her aunt in Mount Vernon and commuting to Children's hospital as of yesterday.
She came down on Friday to take care of business and fill out paperwork at the hospital.  It ended up being a stressful day with a lot of phone calls to moving companies, tracking down of needed CPR cards, and multiple trips to the Advantage car rental place, involving long bus rides and last minute ride-beggings.  It was a long day, which culminated in deep-fried chinese food at the Moon Temple.  Oh yeah.
Shenoa's aunt picked her up on Saturday and I bussed to Federal Way for my cousin Luke's wedding reception.  It was fun, and my mom drove me home.  On the way there I met this extremely talkative southern gentleman who is a photographer.  He was full of advice, and unexpectedly I think most of it was very good and useful advice.  It seemed fortuitous to meet him and also helped pass the time on the long bus ride.
That night my mom gave me her antique chandelier and Larry helped us install it.  Then mom left.  A little while later I was drinking a beer with Larry (my neighbor) and I got a text message from Shenoa saying that she had to put her cat Teewy to sleep, and I totally burst into tears.  It just didn't seem fair for one more really shitty thing to happen to her, not to mention I know I would be heartbroken if anything unexpectedly happened to one of my babies.  So that was pretty rough.  I called her and we cried together.  Then I called my mom and cried some more.  Then Larry asked if going out for a drink would make me feel better, so we went to Flowers and happily ran into Danica and Kelly who always can cheer me up and it was a fun night.
Sunday I spent some time scanning my old art photos with my "new" scanner my mom gave me.  I was thinking about how it was such a nice day and how lovely a BBQ would be, when I remember that my friend Angela was having a BBQ that very day!  It ended up be a fantastic event, complete with amazing food and a large bowl of lemonade punch, spiked with vodka of course.  And Ashleigh came later and so did Kevin and I met some cute boys and it was overall the best BBQ of the summer.
Oh yeah, also Thursday night was Ashleigh's show at the Comet, which was a blast and I played a really good game of pool and danced my ass off.  Also, for some undisclosed reason the Comet sells extremely affordable shots of Patron.  Yum!  Also, had weird run-ins with some people but all were positive.
Umm, so yeah that's all I feel like writing right now, but Labor day weekend was pretty crazy too!  Maybe more later...
