Mwah!
A little update on the word project I'm involved in (my thickening, tattoo)... there is another word in Williamsburg - When. And there are only two words living in Boston, myself and 'lovers'... together we are lovers thickening, - how beautiful. Shelley Jackson (the author/artist) has updated her website with a map of where the words live all over the globe - it's quite the sight/site.
Anyway...
California is refreshing and warm. I needed some new neutral space to clear my head. I return Sunday late late late. LA is ridiculous, Vegas sinful, Fresno quiet. I am bringing home a palm tree and renewed self confidence. Sometimes Williamsburg stifles me, but the poison is sweet and slow and often overlooked. Now that I've had shots poured in my mouth with a side of drag queen, I'm feeling more myself. ;} Highlights: crazy meals, amazing fruit stands mmmm... strawberries, spooning!, cruising the strip looking fierce, free drinks, highway singalongs, Hollywood and Vine, the reuinion of the elite in the airport, and the fountain at the Bellagio. The only sad time was saying goodbye to my Jay.
Thanks to all who participated in my birthday activities. I'm sorry if the evening caused momentary grief and despair for any of the favorites... I wasn't quite feeling like myself. The transition from city student to hometown girl affected me more than I realized... and I'm grappling with some fairly large separation anxiety. I just have to keep in mind what a lucky lady I am, how great the people in my life are and what amazing opportunities I have been afforded...
I'm scared of my upcoming new life. I'm also not used to being scared. So... please bear with me :D when I return to reality day after tomorrow and seem a little dazed.
