Character: Tobias
Series: Animorphs
Age: 15 years old

Canon: Body stealing alien slugs are secretly taking over Earth, and the only thing stopping them is an alien and five human kids given the ability to morph for two hours at a time into any animal they can touch. They call themselves "Animorphs."

Tobias was a dreamer, a geek, and a bully magnet. But when he overstayed the two hour morph limit, he got trapped in morph as a hawk, forcing him to learn to take care of himself. A powerful being helped him regain the ability to morph, but he remains trapped between the world of a hawk and a human.

You know, there are times when having excellent eyesight can come in really handy. When you're trying to find something small or well hidden, for example. When you're trying to track something that moves really fast. Or even when you're just trying to read small print from far away. "When you're trapped in the middle of a zombie infested summer camp," though? Yeah, that's really not one of them.

Now, don't get me wrong. I've seen maggots before. Maggots, I can pretty much handle. But I find that when I see a maggot come crawling out of the nose of a person that's still moving around and walking, telling myself that they're supposed to be dead doesn't really help bring back my appetite. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

On the other hand, I'm sure that my breakfast was relieved it got to live to see another day.

Maggots aside, though, this place actually seems to be pretty okay for a place I was just sort of randomly dropped into. Which of course means that the other shoe just hasn't dropped yet. Trust me, I speak from personal experience when I say that randomly appearing in strange places never, ever ends well.

It's possible that I'm just being pessimistic, though. Not likely, but possible. Just how much worse could things possibly get?
