I do usually burn mix cds that people give me onto my computer to put into my ipod, and sometimes my ipod battery dies so I guess I shouldn't say absolutely no need, but the ipod works much better. Before I was just burning random music onto cds for my car. The ipod works much better..

haha, ipods with they're internal batteries.

i was just kidding above. although, burning random music on cds doesn't really work. they need a theme and to flow. it kind of works for mp3 cds though, then you have lots of music.

I'd rather have internal batteries then regular batteries, I hate buying that stuff and that gets so expensive :(..
No you are right, it doesn't really work that is why my ipod is better. I can listen to anything I want to at any time when I am driving and I do drive quite a bit..

i'd rather have external batteries, because then you can swap them out. and it's not more expensive, because you pay more for ipods anyways.

well.. When I used a discman type deal I rarely used it mainly because I hated buying batteries.. Comparatively I am getting way more out of the $400 spent on my ipod since I use it every single day and it's easy to recharge just by plugging it in. I think everyone is different in their preferences though.

well, see it's also about how you use "regular batteries" as well. i own high quality rechargables for our digital cameras, which i also use in everything else. so they're less annoying because they don't die as quickly. but then when they do, i always have two spares ready to use. you also have to remember that batteries last a lot longer in ipods and mp3 players because they have less moving parts. a single high qulaity 'aaa' battery in a flash player can last for weeks.

I can see that, but I am one of those people that does not use batteries for anything other then remote controls for my dvd player/tv/vcr/fan(hehehe). My cameras have company manufactured lithium batteries in them, I like those as well because you can get new ones for under $10 on ebay and they usually last for about 5 years before battery power begins to signifigantly reduce over time (in my experiences atleast)..

well see, i use batteries in other things. so it's cheaper since i only need one charger. $10 is good for lithium batteries though (which don't build up memory like other batteries), although i don't think you'll always have luck in that way.
