Week 1 done and 3 to go!
Well, I made it through the 1st week of my orientation as a new Paramedic. What a blast so far. I rec'd so many uniform items it felt like Christmas, I had 2 black garbage bags full when they were finished handing it out. The only things they don't supply are socks and underwear LOL.
Our 1st week was full of certification testing and a lot of learning. For anyone out there doing their schooling now, remember, the learning never stops and most of it is learned in the field. School is great theory and a place to learn where to look for answers. Keep in mind that in school you listen to healthy hearts and lungs but in the field it is so different. (I suggest Googling these sounds on the net)
Next week is driver training and STEMI certification (more learning LOL)
3 weeks of orientation left and I am very excited about getting out there.
