Getting busy!

Life is doing it's thing and getting busy. Somehow I take that as a good sign and take that to mean that it's getting warmer and more outdoor activities can be planned.

I've been approved for a Signature Line of credit, so that money will come in very handy. I was able to pay off my new saddle (which I think will be great once I get used to a wider twist and it breaks in), register for War and get new boots and a Irish Knit for Hen. The bonus of the credit line is that I only have to pay 1.5% a month (or $50- whichever is larger). This means I have plenty of time to pay it off without penalties. HUGE relief! I should be able to crawl out of the hole if I can get rid of my other two saddles and get some other bills back under control. At least this is the plan.

I've also been a good girl and am diligently working on the scroll assignments I have. I have finished the illumination on the first scroll and I'll give it back to Ceinwen to do the calligraphy. I don't know that hand (Carolingian) and hers is gorgeous. The second scroll has been callig'd (Ceinwen again) and I've penciled in what I want. Now the scary part of painting. Since they are for Baron Wars, I think I should be good to go.

In happy news Dan Brown is finally coming out with a new book Sept 15. This will be my Birthday pressie to myself. The bad part is that I have to wait till Sept! I haven't been able to find a summary though. I've really enjoyed his others so I can't imagine this one will disappoint.

Musical Ride is going ok. We cantered last night and noone died!! It actually went better then I thought it would. Now we just have to get everyone completely "off book" and work on dressing and spacing issues (always a problem). We may actually be ready for Horsefest! Hopefully we'll have enough riders to do it. We only have one extra rider and that part makes me nervous. Hen has been pretty good and once he realizes that I'm not going to make him ride in his "boogey spots" (puddles in the arena that he is convinced will eat him alive)he's a good boy. I'm riding him in his dressage bridle because I'm tired of him land sharking April (not that she doesn't dish it right back at him, but who needs to deal with that mess).

I'm taking him to Brendokenfest this weekend. Hopefully he'll be as great as he was at Afternoon of Fun. Sure be nice if I had a reliable gaming horse again.

And that's what's new in a nut shell.
