Hard Questions
Have you ever had anyone that you love and respect honestly ask you what are your goals, short term and long term. What are your desires that you want to pursue when the real world knocks at your door at graduation? What has God laid on your heart? Where are your priorities and how will they play out in your decisions?
In not so many of the same words, that question was asked of me a week ago. At first I thought this would be a fun and interesting question to answer, but I sat down to write my answer and I realized. Wow, this is a lot harder to answer than I thought. I have a million hopes and plans for the future and many of them that seem outlandish and crazy. I could not quite articulate what they were at that moment. My fingers slowed their pace as my mind raced searching for the words to express my jumbled thoughts. It has really gotten me thinking, of course I am always thinking about this kind of thing, but this has me REALLY thinking. It is one thing to consider and ponder the future, but it is a completely different thing to put it in writing for another to read. I challenge you...try it write down your goals, desires, and plans for the future. It will be harder than you think and it will really get you thinking about what you are striving for, where you are heading, and why.
