Lordy, this is really something. Love your characterization of our beautiful boys. You caught them, and their relationship, perfectly. Amazing.

Sweet, poignant, loving. I have a sad little smile through most of this. Well done.

thank you! I was trying for poignancy in this - I wanted to show how they're dealing after Exit Wounds. I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for commenting!

omgoodness! This is truly an amazing piece of fiction. I just adore how, even starting from the end (Exit Wounds), you've still taken us through the events of the beginning (KKBB onwards), through little comments and character reflections and- just wow!- it makes reading the "growing" relationship between Jack and Ianto so much more tangible and you get this beautiful look into how comfortable and in love they are with each other, even as they share the grief of losing Tosh and Owen.

I love it very much! And I’d love it even more if we got even a smidgen of something like this shown in the next series :) ...also, the image of their first date night going so wrong had me giggling. Silly, Gwen! hehe.

Thank you so much for writing this!
Peace,
Campaspe

I'm glad you enjoyed this! It was really important to me that I show their relationship and what they are to one another and how they can support one another through their grief. Part of that was to show the growth of their relationship, although, I was a bit worried about the flashback scenes, so I'm glad they worked. And yes, silly Gwen :)

This was really lovely - sweet, perfectly-characterized, realistic, and poignant all at once, and all spectacularly balanced against one another. Really, really fantastic job.

I smiled all the way through this. A beautiful rendering of the aftermath of EW and a look back at the developement of Jack and Ianto's relationships. I loved the juxtaposition of present and past,of moving forward and moving on. Jack's attempts to date and woo Ianto meeting with spectacular failure until Ianto has to take things in hand. The level of comfort and peace they found together. I truly enjoyed reading this.

Thank you! I'm really glad the going back and forth in time worked for you - it was a worry for me. It was really important to me that I show that their relationship was mutual and built on more than lust, so I'm glad it came through. Thanks for commenting!
