Poem-The words of time

Sep 02, 2004 01:27

Ancient at time

Peaceful as the summer breeze

Something to ease me

But supposedly

There is a truth behind the saying

“Words can truly hurt.”

And they go so deep

TO the bone

And deeper, to the unspoken

To the soul

Ancient as time

Old as me, old as you

The things we say

The actions we play

The truths we lie

And the lies that we creed

And the burdens that we lay

Ancient as time

The romantic love

The simplest complexity

And in the moment

We find our lover

We should become free in him

In her

Bursting in joy

Ancient as time

This feeling one gets

Of being abandoned

Of being alone

But there is never one

You’ll always have someone to confide in

Ancient as time

Me and you

Them and they

Young yet walking ghosts

Always working

But needing to play

Telling riddles

And confusions of the mind

Of logic

Ancient as time

Nothing really is new

Ancient as time

Everything we do

Will come back to me

Will come back to you

Ancient as time

The things they say

“love me”

“love him”

“love her”

"love her"

“love everyone”

“love everyone”

“love everyone”

“love everyone”

"love yourself"
