i swear i remember it that way

You know, I forgot to write about this a couple days ago when I first saw it, but then Wally the Green Monster (my iPod) played Air of December to remind me (or to subliminally cool me down in this obnoxious heat -- one or the other).

So all of my fellow philes from way back -- did you know love is dangerous...?

That's right, Paula Graves has sold a romance novel, apparently to Harlequin. Wow. Just wow.

Though this is probably a better fit for her writing skills than Mulder & Scully (and Skinner & Margaret, right?). Mind-boggling.

Speaking of Wally (well, sort of), I was listening to Mike & Mike this morning, and they were polling their callers/interviewees and then trying to decide who had the most embarrassing song on their iPod. They came up with It Never Rains in Southern California (Jayson Stark?), It's Raining Men (multiple callers), and Mmmmbop (multiple callers). The topic amused me.

So I ask you, internet: What's the most embarrassing song on your iPod?

I'll even go first. I would have to say Right Stuff by New Kids on the Block. Yes, I said it. NKOTB. Shut up. ;)

Statements like this one from sports.yahoo.com make me want to punch someone in the face:

On Monday, starting right fielder Trot Nixon went on the disabled list after strained his right biceps a day earlier. Starting pitchers Tim Wakefield and Matt Clement are already on the disabled list and David Wells came off it on Monday, when he started and allowed eight runs in 4 2-3 innings.

The Red Sox have been healthier than the Yankees, who have lost outfielders Hideki Matsui and Gary Sheffield for most of the season and have second baseman Robinson Cano on the disabled list.

Wha....? Until two days ago, 3/5 of our rotation was on the DL! And our starting centerfielder missed 6+ weeks with a broken finger! And Tek got broken the day after the trading deadline. So take your "the Yankees have had it soooooooooooo baaaaaaaaaaaad" and shove it. God.
