they're mine now.

Is that Howard Zinn's "A People's Hitory of the United States?" That book is absolutely incredible, and probably the only thing from high school that I am holding onto with any kind of fierce loyalty. It started my trip towards the leftist way of thinking, and though I can be a bit militant about it at times, I doubt I could be happy anywhere else.

And I completely understand what you mean about reading and Guam. I read a lot at work because there are incredible lulls, and I find reading to be a lot better way to spend my time than staring off into space or listening to the nineteenth go-around of the latest workplace gossip. But I am just stared at like some kind of freak, and people are always asking me if I have to read these books for school, or if I can remember the books I read, or how I can read so much. It's almost as if reading for pleasure is a foreign concept to them.

And that, to me, is a foreign concept. Music and literature rock my world. Loading up on new CDs or books every couple of weeks is my bi-monthly ritual in an effort to stay happy...
