i got my hands on a radio show recording from 2005 of klub des loosers and it has these beats that are amazing and plus la femme de fer, it's safe to say i'm totally totally totally getting into french rap again this year.
Hilarious thing is I first got into it around this same time - LAST YEAR. I didn't plan this, I swear! I was listening to MF DOOM and I was making a comment on a beat of his that I heard in a freestyle .mp3 (which I play A LOT) with Fuzati, James Delleck, and Cyanure. And then WHAM! BAM! interest = revived.
And check this out:
tomorrow = spring tales ep
september = last days ep
(the above are beat cds by fuzati, under the klub des loosers name)
november = new album
Fuck yeah, I am an excited African-American French rap fangirl.
...
...god I am so weird.
But I have a relative that lives in France. So this interest makes sense. PLUS my sister learned more French than me in high school (all the way to French 5, dear lord).
French stuff = cool beans. I mean come on. Daft Punk, Ed Banger Records, Phoenix (one of the members used to be in Darling with Daft Punk members), Yelle, TTC (which put French rap on the international map, HELLO), Serge Gainsbourg (I must get into more of his music), France Gall (WHICH BTW, THE SSR OPENING THEME WAS INSPIRED BY ONE OF HER SONGS)...
Yeah. Everyone should get into French music. I remember my little phase with ye-ye music. I wonder if that ye-ye blog is still going. I hope so. ♥
