[ Pissed was an understatement. But, Willow had gotten her a location, and Buffy was now arming herself, grabbing weapons from the closet and sticking stakes in her jacket to make sure she had enough on her. Bottle of holy water in her boot, the kind of preparation that made sure she accounted for everything.

She was trying to do her best to avoid yelling at Spike directly, but the slamming around was ... really making her sentiments clear. So, the second he came out of his room, she threw her sword down on the counter and confronted him, pulling out her datapad and displaying the video. ]

Did you see this? [ She says it in a sharp tone that makes it clear it's more or less rhetorical. Of course he did. She just wants to make sure he understands that it's his fault. Because if it wasn't his fault, that'd mean it was hers. ]

[perspectiveguy]

[ Xander's couch/bed-ridden so he can't exactly escape the conversation happening. So, he watches it go down, ready to get a jab in if need be. He saw the terror, the murdering. It's time to put Drusilla down. ]

[breakmychest]

[Spike had seen the video. And he was feeling pretty damn crappy about it without Buffy's help. He's almost gone for a drink several times, but he hasn't. He needs his senses sharp for the upcoming hunt.]

Yeah. I saw it. I know what I need to do.

The only thing that you need to do is stay the hell out of my way so that I can clean up your mess. [ She throws the datapad onto the comfy chair that Xander isn't currently occupying, and turns in a whip of blonde hair to go pick her sword back up. She's already running down the list of people who she can trust to help, and Spike's not on it. Riley, sure. Nico, maybe. Sam and Dean and Jo, even. But not Spike. ]

So, you wanted to be the hero, save her soul instead of stopping her, and now I have to clean it up. I hope you're happy, Spike. I really hope you are, because someone should be, and it's sure as hell not me.

Not to chime in - you know, unwarranted but, this guy wasn't exactly aware of the soul plan. And, had he been, had Willow been maybe we could've done something but Spike's heart got in the way. Gee, doesn't that always seem to happen?

[slayerdom]

Xander! [ Buffy glowers. If anyone is allowed to discourage Spike from being feelings guy, it's her. Which is ... weirdly possessive, but not really. It's mostly just ... she doesn't want him being evil with a soul guy. See: Angel. ] Stop helping!

[breakmychest]

[Spike just shoots Xander an annoyed glare before looking back at Buffy.] Can we do this somewhere without the audience? [The way he gets around Buffy during arguments like this is private and not something he wants to share with Xander and his unhelpful remarks.]

And no. I'm not happy about this. Far from it.

[slayerdom]

[ As she lifts the sword, she turns towards him and points it in his direction, which gets it uncomfortably close to him. ] No. [ And then she slowly lowers it to her side. ] We can't.

Because you told me you were going to take care of this, and I believed you. And now look. People are dead. People who won't just ... come back. [ She's practically spitting the words. The more she puts it on him, the more she can avoid feeling to blame for it. She never should have let Spike say he'd do it to begin with. Her job. Her calling. It may have been personal for him, but she never should have let -- She shakes her head. ]

You don't need to do anything. Because, I can't trust you to get the job done.

[breakmychest]

[He doesn't flinch at the sword, just looks up to meet her eyes. He knows what she's doing. He knows how much guilt she's feeling over this too. He's okay with taking it onto him if it makes her feel better. It really isn't her fault this time. Mostly, it's Drusilla's fault. Should Spike have killed her first? Maybe.]

I had to try. Things could have gone differently. I knew how to get through to her, once.

Could have, but didn't! You also knew how to get in my pants, once, but no one's hanging their hopes on that happening anytime soon, either. [ Yep. There's some textbook lashing out going on here. ] You wanna help someone? Help Cordelia. Look after Dawn and Xander. Maybe that'll be something you can actually do right. [ Except ... he already fucked up at looking after Dawn and Buffy died because of it. Oops. Oh well. ]

[breakmychest]

[...did she just accuse him of being incompetent because he couldn't get into her pants? He frowns, stepping in closer to her.] Love, you're placing this on me, and that's fine, but if you're going up against Drusilla, you'll need your head on straight. Get the yelling and mad accusations out now. Before it becomes really dangerous.

[slayerdom]

[ ... Spike, you are focusing on the WRONG PARTS OF THAT YELLING. ] Well, gee, I'm glad I have your permission to hold you accountable. But, when I want your advice on how to not kill Drusilla? I'll be sure and ask for it. [ She's only pissed with you, Spike. She'll be fine when you are ... not here. ]

[breakmychest]

And what about this other bloke? Know anything about him? [He's deflecting, maybe, but he doesn't need a Buffy lecture to feel bad about all this. He was already there before she got to him.] I can help.

[slayerdom]

No. You can't. You got your chance to help, and you blew it. [ She takes a few steps back, shaking her head. ] And now, I don't have time for this. Because I have a collection of psychopaths to catch up to. [ She turns and beelines for the front door. ]

[breakmychest]

[He grabs her arm as she passes him.] Dru's psychic. She'll try and get into your head. Hypnotise you. Be careful.

[slayerisms]

[ She jerks her arm out of his grasp, all but snarling at him for grabbing it in the first place. ] Oh, is that what she did to you? [ It's harsh. It's dismissive. It trivializes about a hundred years of love and devotion. But, she doesn't care at this point. ] I fought Dracula's thrall. I'm not worried. Now, let me go.
