Two strange ones...

After she'd had a bit of a time to think through it - it was incredibly inconvenient not having her journal, and she made a note to herself to pick up a notebook and keep one here, just so that she could put the narrative in the proper place when she returned home - she had heard a bit about Captain Jack Harkness. Not the full story, actually, but during their conversation things started reminding her more and more about bits and pieces the Doctor had thrown around.
It did involve something which happened to him, also related to the Time Vortex, and changing him for good.
All of which made River that much more curious about the handsome Captain.
So, naturally, she was (more or less) punctual. Besides her clothes, she'd procured a gun - because what's a girl to do, unarmed? - and a few small convenient items. None of her usual arsenal, but there was a bottle of what smelled like good alcohol.
Bars could mean attracted attention to their conversation. If they were going to compare notes on things that were neither here nor now... privacy was better. Which didn't mean they had to forego the fun parts, of course.
