[Yep. You sure did just get new roommates. Sorry about that.]

If it helps, I don't know who he is. [Kyp has his arms crossed and is eyeing the both of you. He was enjoying the alone time with his girlfriend, jerkbutts]

[Merlin looks over at the new voice, blinking at the owners posture.]

He's Prince Arthur and I'm Merlin. [Which isn't much help in return, but it's a start.] You're our other housemate?

[pathtosacrifice]

[Meanwhile, Catty is just stretched out along the couch, sketching quietly.] Kyp doesn't count, since he's from this universe. Anyone from Earth is going to recognize Arthur and Merlin.

[She grins.] Sorry about that, by the way. It sucks when people know all about you, doesn't it? [And there's a pointed look right at Kyp when she says that. Play nice.]

Oh. [Merlin looks over at him again. A native. That could be helpful. Not that he seems particularly...inclined to help.]

It was a little startling. [He shrugs.] Can't say it wasn't anything I didn't already know. Arthur's going to be king and a great one.

[Merlin's quiet for a moment, watching her sketch.]

Were you an artist? Before you came here, I mean.

[He opens his mouth to say something no doubt rude in return, but Catty's voice in his head stops him. He makes a face at her instead. His friend called you stupid. I don't have to be nice to people who call you stupid]

I'm Kyp. I hope your friend doesn't expect people to just fawn over him because he's a prince or something. People in this world don't like those who think they were born to rule.

[pathtosacrifice]

He's got a long way to go before he reaches his legendary status. [She makes a face before glancing at Kyp again. I've been called worse, remember? And then she glances back at Merlin, smiles.]

Not by profession. I never got the opportunity for it, but I entered into shows a few times, won a few awards.

[pratservant]

He'll make it. You'll see. [Merlin smiles a bit, knowing that Arthur has more good than bad in him, but knowing they both have some growing yet to do.]

Sounds like a gift.
