[Kaidan's stripped to pants only, slamming his fists into some kind of training dummy. It looks like he's been there for a while, because the poor dummy's head is hanging on by a thread, the stuffing coming out of split seams.
He doesn't want to be there. He wants to be with Shepard, at her side until she wakes up, but that position is already taken. Taken by a friend, so he can't even get mad about that. He's got no one to blame but himself, though, so he focusses on the training, throws himself into it like he's been doing for the past two years. Some people drowned themselves in booze, sex, other destructive behaviour; Kaidan had drowned himself in the job, and it showed in the strength of his movements, the lack of anything resembling hesitation.
The dummy finally gives up the ghost. A sharp sound splits the air as his fist slams through the thin layer of stuffing left, into the post that's holding it up, and cracks it. Kaidan hisses under his breath at the sudden pain and rips the entire post from the ground with his biotics - it's not an action born of rage, but rather from the acknowledgement that he just broke the thing, and may as well get some biotic practice in as well]
