soon burns out'>[The worst part was that he'd had a single dream earlier this week, that he now knew was a vision cemented in reality. He'd told himself, at the time, that the future was a thing in motion, and that Catty was strong. That they'd find her a way out before...
But now there was no before, and he had to focus on the task as it was. If he were the only one going in, he'd feel more confident, but he could sense Kyp's inner turbulence, no matter how much the young Jedi worked at calming himself, centering himself. He was a furnace of power, on the verge of overheating.
But if Jacen hadn't agreed to bring him, he'd have gone in separately, on his own, and Jacen couldn't have that.
As his eyes drifted momentarily over towards his younger brother, who had merely showed up at the docking bay, not even asking, just expecting to be brought along, he reflected once more how he wished he could have done this mission on his own, because if there was one thing his dream had made quite clear, it was the lingering sense of impending death.
Someone's death.
Perhaps that was why he'd been so quick to want to dismiss it. He'd seen enough of death in these last few months, and only having just gotten Tenel Ka back after what he'd had to do...
He hadn't wanted to believe he could lose someone else dear to him, especially not when he considered this situation to be his own doing. He was the one who'd given Catty permission for this insane mission: one that discovering the stores of cure the Crimson Terror had been harboring had rendered unnecessary.
His father's words were the ones that swam to mind now, as he cast a steely gaze out at the blanket of stars.
He had a bad feeling about this.]
