[One thing had become startlingly clear during Jacen's trip down here with his friends and family earlier: this was not the Coruscant underbelly he knew. It wasn't quite the levels of slum and squalor that he and Jaina and Zekk had explored when they shouldn't, back in his childhood days on Coruscant. Nor was it the sort of nightmarish living museum that it was on Yuuzhanta'ar.
It was still dark, the center of shadiness and poverty of the Old Republic, but the planet simply wasn't old enough to have decayed at its heart the same way it had in the future. Nightclubs, crime dens, they thrived down here, and there was a large populace of the immoral.
Of course, thinking of it as safe would be foolish, so Jacen's senses were on complete alert as he and Isolde had made their way down and through, always heading in the direction his sources had pointed him to. It'd taken a lot of searching, but finally they'd located what he was looking for.
It looked as if the building had come to collapse under its own weight, and he wondered what was at the top of it, and whether the beings who inhabited its upper layers realized that the base was so unstable. Or that they were literally living on the backs of those who called this layer home.
He knew most of them didn't think about it. It was easier that way.
Jacen wasn't interested right now in what this building had originally been intended for, or who might have lived there: they were long gone now. He and Isolde had had to travel into parts of the Underworld that most avoided out of a simple fear for their lives - this sector was the realm of mutated creatures, animals, even humanoid beings, that hadn't made it easy for them to find their target, though it was nothing two Force-users of their skill hadn't been able to handle.
But he could feel it as they approached this building, and he slowed, nodding his head towards the gaping maw where the door had collapsed open.]
Inside here. There's likely to be nests inside, so we'll need to be cautious.
