[He stood looming over her, also looking down into the weapons trunk. What? Wherever they were going, he sure as hell wasn't going in unarmed.]

I said that I would.

[And even with everything that was going on, even with the squabbles her and Buffy kept getting into and the thoughts of Darla and his life back in LA eating away at his brain, he could still manage that much. He could still help.]

Then, let's get going. [ She hands him a sword, then looks at the lightsaber that she had left out. She frowns and goes to put it in the trunk, settling on an axe as her weapon and then closing it entirely. Angel's smart enough not to ask, she figures. She pulls on her coat with a wince at the wound in her ribs, then heads for the door. She locks it behind them and leads the way down to the senate chambers. ]

[As he promised, hes standing at the senate chambers when they arrive, a cloak of some sort tossed over his damaged robes. He'd slipped out of the building without Rose this time, and he's really not fit for company just yet. Which is of course why he's decided now is such a good time to do go hunting terrorists. When they arrive he nods to the man--and recognizes him from a few recent broadcasts--but addresses only Buffy directly]

Which direction is it?

West from here. [ She points off towards a tall building that's only a couple blocks away and has a spire pointing out of it. Probably some kind of disguised, Star Warsy antenna. ] That one. You have everything you need to figure out where the signal came from?

[No complains about the sword here. Angel follows but keeps back, standing behind Buffy. He also ... has nothing to contribute to this conversation. So he's basically just looking like a member of the slayer secret service. Or a bodyguard.]

[He withdraws his sonic screwdriver from a pocket and gives it a twirl.] Everything. [She might not have the extensive memories of being a Time Lord any longer--and good for her, because even one as young as she thought she was would kill her before long--but he's fairly certain she'll remember or have looked up enough to recognize the sonic screwdriver for what it is. If not, she'll have to ask while she walks, because he's already started toward the indicated building.] I'll need to get to Emer's personal terminal to trace the signal, and if they've encrypted its point of origin I'll need a few minutes to unscramble it.

[ She makes a squinty face at the sonic screwdriver, because she feels like it should be familiar but nothing's coming up. Memory fuzz. She hates it. But, she dismisses it promptly in favor of taking quick, purposeful strides toward the broadcasting station. ]

We'll get you to his terminal and keep anybody from interrupting. You just get whatever it is you need off the ... data thingy. [ Do they even use computers here? Lord if she knows, but that's why she's leaving the tech to the Doctor. Looking to Angel for confirmation, she remarks. ] I'm pretty sure we can buy you a few minutes at least.

[He nods at Buffy. Technology may not be his forte, but he has no problem with the swinging his sword around to keep enemies at bay part. But, since some people were never timelords, he can't help but ask:] What's that supposed to do?

[He just...ignores the squinty face. If she doesn't ask, he won't say. Which...the other, Angel? Does actually ask. He gives it a bit of a flourish as he walks.]

This? It opens locks. Also, it hacks computers, identifies and traces signals, and occasionally does a fair job heating up popcorn evenly.

Popcorn too, huh? When we're done here, I might just want a demonstration. [ Because obviously, making jokes when they're being all srs face is the best. It's how Buffy gets through her days. But, it was a short walk -- Buffy wasn't kidding about that -- and they reach the front entrance of the broadcasting station. Big, glass automatic doors separate them from the lobby. ]

I'm thinking there are a few floors between us and the actual newsroom. But, since you've got your handy dandy lockpick ... we can probably get up there no problem, right?

Huh. [He looks at the screwdriver and wonders ... what messed up witchcraft made that happen. But whatever. Back to the task at hand.]

It would beat breaking down the doors.

Trouble is...I don't think Coruscant's caught on to the popcorn craze yet. [Not witchcraft, science!] The locked doors won't be a problem. [Unless they're deadlock sealed or the lock is made out of wood. But how likely is that?]

...And yes. Better than breaking them down. We're not here to do damage to this place. [The 'yet', he keeps to himself.]

Which is too bad, really, because boy am I liking the sound of damage. [ She glowers at the building as they walk inside. Her wounds, Spike's death. They're kinda making her itch for some serious payback.

But, she just clenches her hands into fists. This isn't the time. She'll get the people responsible. As much as she might hate what they call news here, they weren't the problem. Whoever was at the end of that threat was. She scopes out the entryway and then points towards the back, past the reception desk. ] I spy with my little eye something elevator-shaped.

[Angel stares with her, considering.]

Are we sure damage is out of the question?
