Lois couldn't help but be pre-occupied as she took orders from the regulars, mixing together bottles of alcohol she'd never even seen until a month ago. It'd been hectic, trying to catch up with the other bartenders here, but she was nothing if not determined. The truth was, however, no matter what kind of face she'd put on for the newbies, she wasn't half as accepting as she seemed of their new lifestyle here.
At first, she'd thought she was dead, and that the afterlife was one weird damn trip. After all, that knife through the torso wasn't really the kind of thing that left a lot of options open.
But eventually, she'd come to realize something more seemed to be at work here, and she'd realized there was a hope of going home some day. She knew it wasn't going to be easy, but if someone had brought them here, someone would know how to send them back.
And she wasn't about to be blackmailed into playing toy soldier just to get that to happen.
But having the freedom to investigate necessitated money, so she'd worked to not only get this job, but get good at it.
The newest mass arrival of people however, didn't bode well for whoever was behind this giving up anytime soon. Not to mention that this wave had brought someone from Metropolis. Someone who claimed to know her, in the future, at least.
Who else was going to show up?
That was one of the motivating factors behind her inviting everybody to come down for a drink in the first place. Maybe she'd get a glimpse of a familiar face of her own. It was pretty easy to pick out the new arrivals from the locals by the expression on their face when they walked in and saw the place stuffed full of aliens. She couldn't help but smirk as she saw one approaching now, and it turned her attention back fully to what was going on.
"Pick your poison," she called out, as they approached the bar.
