I'm cautiously optimistic about the new stimulus bill. Which is more than I can say about the bailout bill, which (as I mentioned might happen at the beginning has only turned out to help executives.
Regardless of whether the stimulus bill is the right medicine or not right now, why do Republicans make such a fuss about spending money on domestic issues when they clearly don't mind spending it on other countries? Why is it OK to spend billions of dollars on Iraq (a significant amount, by the way, unaccounted for and brushed aside) and not billions on failing bridges, health care, and education?
The whole tax break argument doesn't fly with me either, especially if they're being given to corporations. Odds are, the benefits are going to wind up in executives' or shareholders' pockets. Take a look at Exxon, for example. When they made their record profits last year, did they reduce their prices? Pay more to their attendants? No. If there is no need for a company to pay more to their employees, they won't.
It's a shame about A-Rod. It would have been nice to see him break the homerun record without having an asterisk next to his name. Ah well.
Yankees who have taken steroids: A-Rod (granted it was when he was with the Rangers), Jason Giambi, Andy Petitte, and Roger Clemens. Apparently money + steroids aren't enough to win a championship, either.
Heard Mark Ronson and Lily Allen's Oh My God AND Rilo Kiley on HD Radio the other day (92.9's Radio You). And Mix has finally started sending artist and track info on HD too. Which is nice for the 5 of us that have HD radios....
I'm really disappointed Ruckus has shut down. Spiralfrog doesn't look to be as capable of a replacement, having what looks to be a smaller track library and a crappier interface (no Fray or Incubus that I could find. Which sucks because I really wanted the Fray's new album and Incubus' new single).
Music that I apparently have that I haven't listened to yet: Adele and Rosin Murphy. That in addition to Erin McCarley. Guess it'll be a new music week :).
