[ the hand-writing is very, very neat and dark, as if whomever were writing was using an old feather-tipped pen. Some of you may remember it. ]
It takes approximately two months for the journals to find its owner after being dumped into the ocean. They also seem to suffer no ill effect from the crushing deep, as if some otherworldly force protected it from harm.
How curious.

But I am getting ahead of myself -- Good day, my fellow citizens of New York, and how are you? I trust none of you have done too much damage in my absence?
My shop does need customers if it is to keep afloat in these trying times!
