Take him to the cops. Put him somewhere else. Don't think there's any rules about that kind of thing.

The woman got away with her purse fine, so where's the problem?

What about the next woman he attacks, with no one there to save her?

Maybe he won't try again after I beat him.

When you hit someone hard enough to knock them out, they usually don't remember what happened right before the blow. He might not even remember trying to steal the woman's purse.

I'm just one guy. I just did something nice for a woman. It's not like I was trying to rid the universe of crime.

Pointing out it's not as easy as it felt. Not hard to throw a punch. Hard to look at consequences, the future. You want to be a police officer, have to consider those things.

I don't know if I want to be a cop or not. Just a thought. I know I ain't one now.
