A query.
What opinions do the owners of these devices have regarding the possibility and scope of travel beyond our atmosphere?

I suppose that depends on if you believe there is anything out there to find. I'd hate for us to put all the effort into having the technology only to find nothing besides rock and an infinite amount of space.

Of course not. My point is that there is no guarantee that we'll find life among them if we ever accomplish the ability to travel to them.

Even without discovering life, the information we may learn about the universe and the stars would be monumental.

We may also be able to discover useful resources. I would expect a lot of research to be done before we attempted to send human beings out there.

Most likely. After that we'll probably move to nonsentient forms of life to ensure that we'll be able to survive the trip.
