What opinions do the owners of these devices have regarding the possibility and scope of travel beyond our atmosphere?

Theoretically, it is quite easy: all we need to do is invent a compressed space (a portable atmosphere) and the speed to break the grip of gravity.

As a nation and a species, we have never allowed our technology to curb our knowledge. That which cannot be examined with the naked eye can be postulated and theorized on, until the technology exists.

I would create engine of enormous size, and with enormous amounts of fuel.

It is a new sort of chemical, part of a group called 'plastics.' My concern would be for body compression, insulation and oxygen. Heavy clothing or synthetic materials will be most useful.
