silly little silliness...

So this one is to all those on my list who might be interested in claiming a guy...

...of the acting variety, silly. Not just random guys off the street.

Yes, it sounds completely inappropriate. I'm aware. But then, I'M completely inappropriate most of the time, so I'm not surprised.

My application is still pending, and most of the immediate names you'd think of are taken (the Johnny Depps, etc.) But if you're like me, and I know I am, and you like some slightly off-the-beaten-track actors, there are TONS of claims left. Like maybe someone from The Office, maybe ;)

For anyone interested, I claimed Henry Ian Cusick. AKA Desmond on LOST. I'm a Sawyer girl most obviously (he's the one featured in my usual icon), but I also have a major thing for Desmond. Desmond Hume, for those would-be philosophers out there. We'll see if I get my banner sometime soon...

OK. Beyond that.

This one's staying public too, just to see if I can find any new friends. LJ-variety friends are fun :)

[Oh, and PS, for the purposes of LJ and the hopeful avoidance of stalkery, Soth = my boyfriend. There's a reason for that name. And I did not make it up. If you know it, wow.]

But beyond that...wow, I have just not been up to enough to fill one entry, and that's not right. Christmas break was GREAT, but unbelievably fast...I now own a Wii (well, technically Soth does, as it was his Christmas/birthday gift) and a handful of games, and I'm kinda addicted, I won't lie. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves and Elebits are two of the simultaneously cutest and most ridiculous games that I've EVER played, but I'm loving them both. PLUS I got a Nintendo DS for Christmas. So I've been busily raising my virtual pug, Lupin (surprise!)--you know, until I can own real animals--in NintenDogs, and running my little Jubilee around the town of Bedford in Animal Crossing: Wild World. Yup. That's me.

And this semester promises to be harder and easier than the last, which sounds odd. I'm on campus more DAYS this semester, but I'm taking less classes. That does mean, however, that I both teach and work in the Writing Center, which is fun, and right now, helpful in making me get my reading done while waiting for tutees. And the best part is the two classes I'm taking, though completely disparate, are both incredibly interesting. One of them plays to my interests (medieval romance!) and one of them couldn't be further from my usual fare (Soviet film and theory during the 1920's & 30's, although we do some later things too), but in both cases the professors are incredibly passionate and interested in their subjects.

This semester will also likely find me taking my foreign language exam, working towards my Film Studies certificate, and...gaming on Thursday nights in the Student Center. As Soth put it, "A popular night was had by all." This WAS my first time being competitive in LOTR Risk. I owned the Shire, dammit. I got a CONTINENT BONUS.

And...hmmm. Soth's birthday is tomorrow, so I'm taking him to dinner, plus we'll probably hit the MFA for the afternoon just to be touristy and professorial (our students have to go there this weekend). Our 3-year was last weekend :) although what with the newness of being back again and trying to settle in, we didn't do anything huge. Perhaps a trip will be taken somewhere sometime soon. That's the plan, anyway.

And it's COLD AS SHIT here in Boston. Seriously. I do NOT handle "New England winters" well, and this one has actually been very mild. But on the upside, I have a new winter accessories wardrobe, so I win.

Also I've OBVIOUSLY been obsessing over LOST. Obviously. Oh Sawyer and Desmond. Although not both together. Wait...OK, back to here now. But yes. Um. Right. Much with the LOST. We're nearly done with Season 2, at last (Soth watched Season 3 with me from its beginning, but we weren't done with Season 2 by the time the new one started. It's confusing. I know.), and my Des is about to come back just in time for Sawyer to get bound and gagged on a dock.

Which sounds like either really good or really bad slash about to start.

And on that note...

cold, lost, animal crossing, nintendogs, anniversary, christmas, wii
