Character Personality: Optimistic, easy going, bight and cheerful are the usual aspects to Zidane’s demeanor. He is someone who rarely let's things get him down, regardless of how bleak. He’d rather see what he could do with a situation before giving up, trying every possible option. It's a given that Zidane is also a very stubborn individual.
When it comes to defending his friends, he’s there to the end. He’s loyal and reliable, almost to a fault, but as such, he’d probably take betrayal pretty damn hard, so whoever did it had better look the fuck out. He also has a set of morals. Which, as strange as that is for a thief, he tends to stick to, one such moral is ‘you don’t need a reason to help people.’
When Zidane get’s serious, he gets serious. He doesn’t play around when something’s at stake and will put those daggers of his to good use. He is easily capable of getting pissed off. Unfortunately here’s where we’d see his stubbornness and pride get the better of him, but Zidane has enough skill to certainly back himself up.
Another thing is that Zidane is a horrible womanizer. He’s not outright rude or anything, but when he sees a pretty girl walk by him, Zidane follows after with the pickup lines. Granted, he’s not always successful, but that never stops him. He also seems to completely believe he's a ladies man, despite his often rejected advances.
Character Abilities: Zidane has been trained as a thief probably since he was very young. Granted he'd label himself more as a 'treasure hunter' but if he needs to, this monkey could steal the pants off you faster than you can blink an eye. However, he is the sort to use his powers for good, not evil.
Because he is so small, Zidane is also a very nimble, agile sort. He is also very fast. Fighting him would probably be like fighting an acrobat on crack. Not to mention he cheats with that tail of his, adding some damn good balance while he flips through the air.
With fighting in general, Zidane is pretty skilled. He's able to wield two kinds of weapons expertly, a set of daggers and the swallow blade. It also appears he has some training in the broadsword as well, from a few scenes in a game, though its not his choice weapon.
Though this is likely to have no effect in soul campaign, Zidane is also able to go into a 'Trance' mode, in which he transforms fabulously into a fury naked, pink monkey and unleashes a can of rape magic on the unsuspecting opponent. This is the only time Zidane is able to use magic we've seen in canon. The form only lasts a short time and then he's back to being normal and fully clothed.
Character Weaknesses: One of his biggest weaknesses is his size. While he is very fast and a skilled fighter, his punches don't quite pack as much power. He's also not terribly different than a normal human being in that he can take a hit only so much before he's worn down.
He's also reckless. He's risked his life in the past for friends, allies, complete strangers, and even enemies. If someone is in trouble and he can do something about it, you'd better bet his tail he'll jump right into danger's way to save them. Not always a hundred percent sure he'll make his way out.
He'll also avoid fighting a woman if he can. He'll do it if he reaaally has to, but he's not a big fan of it. (I say this because Beatrix would have kabobed his ass otherwise) This is obviously tricky with the whole, fighting witches thing.
[ WEAPON SECTION ]
Why your character should be a Weapon: Zidane lives to protect. He is someone who would put himself directly in harms way if it means saving a comrade or even a stranger. As such, imagining him as a weapon to fight and save isn't a farfetched idea.
Falling down into spoilar territory: Zidane's very existence was originally meant to be that of a weapon of destruction had Kuja not meddled with things. Garland having created him for the purpose of wiping out an entire planet, calling him his angel of death.
What is your character's Weapon form?: Zidane's weapon form is essentially two forms if you really want to call it that.
He takes the form of a swallow blade (A sword with one blade on each end, so perhaps more of a double-bladed staff?) that can detach at the center into a pair of daggers, though still connected by a decent sized chain. Both forms are difficult weapons to master, so who ever wound up being his meister would probably have to be either experienced or a patient learner.
His Soul Resonation attack is called Grand Lethal. Everything starts to glow pinkish purple and basically this happens.
