I have found a new obession: Classical music
I have downloaded over 100 songs composed by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Stravinsky, and more. It's so beautiful. This sudden obbession was brought on by my 20th century music class that I'm taking at school. I'm also taking philosophy which I am fascinated with. I actually want to start my essay two days before it's due. I'm having a lot of fun in my acting and improv class, and surprisingly, I'm learning so much. I'm not learning techniques, or methods, or discipline.....I'm learning about the real world of acting - auditioning for 10 things and getting called back for 3, competiting against hundreds of other actors, waiting around for the cast list, for the audition time, working with people from different levels and training. I am training for the real world now.....I'm learning how to sell myself, how to audition, and how to be a working actor. On top of that, I get to audition outside in Chicago. At the end of SEpt. I will be audition for A Christmas Carol at the Goodman Theater. I am excited. I fucked up on half my auditions this week, and did wonderfully on the other half. I'm learning how to cold read, and how to compete. It's wonderfully liberating.
I've learned that theater isnt the only thing I love, or understand, which is extremely importannt. I've learned that I will make a good teacher, and director, and I will pursue this.
Today I was cast in the play, Quills, as Madaleine. ---kate winslet's part in the movie.
Finally, I'm acting again. I'm doing what I love.
