Hospitals and sunflower lanyards

I ended up in hospital after coming down very unwell at work and being triaged through 111 into an ambulance collection. This meant that all the tests I had scheduled became much more urgent and I have had blood tests, ultrasound, CT scan and others in the last 48 hours.

Apart from a slightly raised white blood cell count, there are no abormal results. In some ways this is good. It means my kidneys, liver, gallbladder and pancreas aren't failing for example. But it does leave many questions unanswered. Which means it could still be many things. I've been discharged to home (where I can actually get some sleep) and I have to go back to swallow a camera and see what's going on in my stomach and duodenum.

If that comes back clear, then it looks like more scans (MRI, PET) may be necessary.

As I am now officially signed off work (while woosy from painkiller I sent my boss a WhatsApp update of me attached to a drip in lieu of a medical note...), I just have to lie around now and recover and (for once in my life) be a good patient... Or at least try!
