Vacation is around the corner. Soon, everybody will be busy finding vacation jobs, busy with their current job(s), going on some much-anticipated holiday with friends or families, busy slacking at home, busy doing whatever they feel like doing. Talking about vacation jobs, I once read this great book titled Au Pairs. Forget who the author is. But the story is so good; you would have a hard time putting the book down, even for toilet breaks.

So basically, au pairs is like a full-time babysitter and domestic worker (a cool substitute name for “maid”), where you live with them for weeks or months, and they pay you a good sum of money, and of course, you have to babysit their kids and manage them like their own. Usually they employ students to be one. I wish in Singapore there is such job. I mean, there is. But I didn’t know of any now. But on the other hand, I once came across this job ad in Singapore looking for au pairs for their clients in Australia. Have to stay there for like 2 months. That’s so cool right! You actually get an intangible experience living in other country and exchanging cultural information with the family that you’re staying with. Sigh. If only our small little Singapore have cool jobs like that. I’m tired of the usual student jobs like sales person, telemarketer etc. These jobs aren’t intriguing enough for moi.

So anyway, the last words: enjoy your hols and make the most out of it. If you want to get a job, go get one! If you really just want to do nothing, then do nothing. Just follow your intuition. I mean, why force yourself to do something that you don’t really like? Till then…

You know you love me,
