“Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday to Sophia!

Happy Birthday to you!”

Everybody whistled and cheered as Sophia blew the nineteen-shaped candle on the chocolate cake.

Everyone took turn to embrace the birthday girl and gave her a kiss on the cheek while giving their most flattering angle to pose for the camera in front.

The crowd started dancing to J-Kwon’s Tipsy, bopping and grinding as if they’re at the club.

“And now, the exciting part of the party, the presentation of our sweet birthday girl’s present!” the debonair emcee announced.

Murmurs start to fill the whole room as Sophia makes a bee-line towards the exit to catch a glimpse of her birthday present.

Sophia’s jaw dropped open. She’s too flabbergasted to speak.

A shiny pink Porsche parked elegantly in front of the building.

“Oh my god! Daddy, you’re the greatest father in the whole world!” Sophia shrieked and hugged her father tightly and ran to the car and pose for the ever-clicking camera.

Sadly, that’s not the scene for today, 20 November. It’s some typical scenario out of MTV’s Sweet Sixteen party. So cliché. Hahaha..

Okay. So today is the day I finally get out of my mother’s womb after 9 months of hibernating there. Nineteen years ago, the first person who retrieved me was some doctor or nurse at Alexandra Hospital. Was I crying at that time? Hmm.. Note to self: ask mother if I’m crying at that point of time.

Mom was very surprised when she first saw me. Wonder why? My eyebrows were joined together, and it made me look like Bert from Sesame Street. Thanks to mom, who watched some documentary about monkeys when she was pregnant.

“But look at you now. All grown-up and beautiful,” Mom said to me.

And so this is some little history on what happened on the 20 November 1988. A date to remember for moi (and mother, who painstakingly carried me in her womb for 9 months).

Happy Birthday to Eeqa and Miss Rehana..fellow Scorpio babes
