What I've Learned in 2006...

Jan 01, 2006 00:00

We learn something new everyday, but rarely do we sit down and think about the things we actually learn. Here is my way of documenting what I learn each day. Check daily to discover the knowledge of the world through my eyes during 2006...

01/01/06 - King Kong is a horrible, terrible film that I made fun of the entire time I watched it.

01/02/06 - Hearts truly will never be practical until they are made unbreakable.

01/03/06 - Sometimes I wake up and just pray that today will be better.

01/04/06 - I have way too many clothes, but I never seem to have everything I need.

01/05/06 - Four months is 1/3 of the year. That's 33.333333333333333...% of the year! Hopefully there's many more thirds to come!

01/06/06 - I love eating croissants.

01/07/06 - Sometimes we just need to have a great conversation to feel better.

01/08/06 - I love having my friends back on campus with me!

01/09/06 - I have hope that we can work things out.

01/10/06 - I love it when the high is 73 degrees on January 10th!

01/11/06 - Distance makes a relationship 5 times more difficult, but if you can make it work, you deserve a cookie... and free Cane's for a year.

01/12/06 - I'm convinced that SC is not even going to have a winter this year.

01/13/06 - Glory Road is honestly one of the best sport movies I've ever seen.

01/14/06 - I think I'm destined to start every semester of school by watching movies in my dorm room by myself on the first weekend.

01/15/06 - Playing card games with friends is such a blast!

01/16/06 - Creme Soda is very difficult to find in the 2 liter size.

01/17/06 - I am disappointed whenever there is no mail in my mailbox. At least there's not daily bills in there!

01/18/06 - The GMP (main dining hall of USC) sucks because they no longer have homemade chicken salad. They're cheap asses, serving prepackaged crap with sweet bread pickles in it. Disgusting.

01/19/06 - My heart rips into pieces every time I see my 70something year old education teacher have an asthma attack in class, yet she cares about her students so much that she continues to teach.

01/20/06 - I shouldn't go to the tanning bed without a base tan and stay in for 13 minutes if the bulbs were changed only a week before my visit.

01/21/06 - Certain nights, like tonight, remind me why I'm so glad I decided not to drink until I'm 21. Drama, anger, hostility, cruelty, vomiting, peeing... not for me.

01/22/06 - Music History isn't so bad whenever the teacher doesn't make it so damn difficult.

01/23/06 - I crave ice cream almost daily.

01/24/06 - Figuring out where to live, with whom to live, and how to pay for it is very stressful.

01/25/06 - I love my sister so much! She's so awesome.

01/26/06 - Hanging up the phone on someone is one of the most disrespectful things ever.

01/27/06 - Even though they're possibly the worst thing for my health, I love provolone patty melts with mushrooms.

01/28/06 - I need a good night out at the club every now and then.

01/29/06 - I really don't like lots of little kids all in the same place at once.

01/30/06 - Today was absolutely phenomenal, and I wish I knew why, so that I can make everyday similar to it!

01/31/06 - Waking up at noon is incredible.

02/01/06 - I hate writing papers because my perfectionistic writing habits take TOO LONG.

02/02/06 - Sometimes, I will do anything to procrastinate from doing work.

02/03/06 - Riding down the road in a mustang convertible with the top down on the way to Atlanta is absolutely amazing.

02/04/06 - Atlanta is such a wonderful city.

02/05/06 - I want a puppy!

02/06/06 - I hate when people are *extremely* late to things, such as meetings, because they waste other people's time.

02/07/06 - I hate USC internet. Seriously, figure it out, USC.

02/08/06 - I hate taking tests that require more time than the allotted class time, but the teacher won't allow anymore time.

02/09/06 - Very late night trips to Walmart can be such a blast!

02/10/06 - Hyman's Seafood in Charleston has the most amazing hushpuppies on the face of the earth.

02/11/06 - Don't tell your friends that you will be by in a little bit to crash at their place for the night, and then not show up, not answer your phone calls all night, nor return voicemails of worry. Good friends will stay up all night wondering where you are, who you're with, if you're safe, and do everything they can to ensure that you are in fact alright.

02/12/06 - Making $300 for an hour long job is incredible. No, I'm not a gigolo!

02/13/06 - I enjoy attending meetings where I can be extremely professional and speak all dignified.

02/14/06 - This is the first Valentine's Day that I've ever had an exclusive Valentine who I love with all my heart!

02/15/06 - Unexpected free afternoons are remarkably relaxing.

02/16/06 - Great deals at the mall, food from Outback, and dancing with good friends at the club make for an awesome night of fun.

02/17/06 - I love Thai food so much.

02/18/06 - Photography is probably my favorite hobby.

02/19/06 - I hate filling out forms and writing up reports.

02/20/06 - I hate walking from class to class in the rain.

02/21/06 - Waiting around for something you want more than anything makes time pass so slowly.

02/22/06 - Sometimes work feels like it's never going to end.

02/24/06 - Walking over 4 miles through Riverfront Park on a beautiful 70 degree day is so relaxing.

03/03/06 - I am living in the coolest apartment ever next year.

03/04/06 - Some goodbyes are tragically devastating but heartbreakingly necessary. Eventually, following the heart leads a way in the right direction.

03/05/06 - Shaving razors and blades are TOO expensive.

03/06/06 - Shaving with the new Gillette Fusion Power razor is possibly the most unbelievable sensation my face has ever encountered.

03/07/06 - Peppermint hot tea is my favorite warm and relaxing beverage.

03/08/06 - It is possible to be lazy every single minute of the day.

03/09/06 - Sometimes it feels like there just can't be a good reason for a horrible occurrence happening to great people.

03/10/06 - My new phone is so cool.

03/12/06 - It's so hard to say goodbye to loved ones.

03/15/06 - I hate my bank.

03/17/06 - Always check for poles before tumbling.

03/18/06 - I hate allergies.

03/19/06 - I hate writing marching band drill completely by hand.

03/20/06 - Cold and rainy days are depressing.

03/21/06 - My favorite's birthday is 69 days before mine!

03/22/06 - School is too often a hassle, but I only have 4 classes to take next semester before I can student teach and graduate in May 2007!

03/23/06 - Fun nights out with friends are priceless.

03/24/06 - Getting paid for doing work that you love is great. Also, eating a $35 meal at Dianne's On Devine on someone else's tab and then getting paid quadruple is a perfect way to live.

03/25/06 - After weeks of constant hard work, an entire day of complete relaxation is rewarding.

03/26/06 - Success and status do not always mean happiness.

03/27/06 - As we say in Cadets, some people just need to FIO - Figure It Out!

03/28/06 - Sometimes I get so tired that I become uncontrollably grumpy, and it's not pretty.

03/29/06 - If being a dancer at a club wasn't such a trashy and socially unacceptable job, I would so do it. I think I could make a nice little sum of money too!

03/30/06 - I finally love to read!

03/31/06 - Emotional intelligence controls almost everything about people, what they think and what they do, including maturity.

04/01/06 - I really enjoy the feeling of a fresh, clean shave after exfoliating.

04/02/06 - After a long hiatus of gym visits, an intense two hour workout feels unbelievable!

04/03/06 - It's dumb that money orders can only be purchased with cash.

04/04/06 - Being a nice person, who does nice things for people, often backfires.

04/05/06 - It's not a good idea to eat 2 pieces of country fried steak, french fries and onion rings from Denny's at midnight.

04/06/06 - Sleeping until 1pm is heavenly.

04/07/06 - Lying out in the sun by the pool at the Strom, swimming in the pool, soaking in the sauna and working out there all make a great Friday.

04/08/06 - Rainy days have the power to cancel obligated work and make room for more important priorities in life.

04/09/06 - Impulsive buying is such a rush, especially when it's you and your roomslice buying tickets to see James Blunt in Atlanta on May 13th!!!!

04/10/06 - Teaching people how to write a good, structured paper, free of grammatical mistakes is so painstakingly miserable.

04/11/06 - Writing marching band drill in an ancient program that crashes every 5 minutes is a bitch.

04/15/06 - Charleston starts to lose its interest after too many visits, sadly.

04/16/06 - Today is the first major holiday that I've ever spent by myself and not even gone home for a meal with the family. Jesus is cool, but I learned that a long time ago!

04/17/06 - Never settle. What you want is always somewhere, waiting to be found.

04/18/06 - All those national education ADEPT Standards, or whatever they're called, are retarded.

04/19/06 - Rust is definitely my new place of choice.

04/20/06 - I'm becoming quite creative at writing marching band drill, but it takes way too long.

04/21/06 - I do way too much charity work for which I should receive payment.

04/22/06 - Packing up and moving out of a living establishment is one of the worst events in the world.

04/23/06 - Apparently there's a ghost named Tommy who haunts the very top windows of the dome on the SC State House. I went to see him tonight, but I'm not sure if he was up for visitors.

04/24/06 - Finally finishing a project that took approximately 24 hours total to create in a matter of days is such a huge relief!

04/26/05 - I have a possible future as a successful drill writer!

04/27/05 - The average American uses 20,850 sheets of toilet paper a year. Wouldn't that fluctuate for women and men though?

04/28/06 - Friday night dates are so much fun, especially when it's Moonlight Movies on Main with Shellie!

04/29/06 - There's no reason to accost someone and say he/she must always be right and never wrong if the person argued because he/she was in fact, absolutely correct.

04/30/06 - Hobo dinners are delicious.

05/01/06 - Tudor is the last name of the English royalty. Haha, I should probably already know that.
