Grounded

I think it's sad when someone who has too much of something - be it money, power, success, love, time, or whatever - becomes convinced that everyone else is trying to take it away from them, and therefore becomes paranoid and tries to hide it and hoard it and forgets why they wanted it in the first place and how to enjoy it or put it to good use ( Read more... )

They were two seperate incidents - I think jamming with the Red House Painters and touching Bjork all at once would cause an overload.

Is your friend there on holiday? Does your friend enjoy meeting random strangers and walking around cities with them?

I have a lot of trouble defining my own music. I am just working on it alone at the moment - so it just sounds like acousticy rock stuff I guess; but ultimately I would like to play with other people and I think it would sound a bit like a cross between Nada Surf and Snow Patrol (in my head at least).

I am also in the official Coldplay Tribute Band; just for the cash and experience. We will be touring the UK later this year.

I don't think I've been to Turnkey but I've definitely heard of it - where is it?

Cool. Turnkey is at Tottenham Court Road (at Denmark Street).

I play drums (not in a band at the moment but looking) into Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Radiohead etc. I also do my own electro stuff, all the programming.

New Nada Surf any good?

Ah yeah, I know it. And I have been in there I think, a while ago.

Pumpkins and Soundgarden and Radiohead are all excellent. And programming stuff interests me. I would like to put electro stuff on some of my songs, but I don't have the knowledge or equipment.

I like the new Nada Surf a lot, although I think it was too mellow for a lot of fans.

if you want it electro'd up just ask!

Well I could send you a copy of my demo and see what you think of it. If you hate it then that's fair enough, but if you think it could maybe be electro'd up then that would be cool!

that would be cool! Is your stuff done to clicktrack? what do you use to record?

The stuff I recorded recently was done to clicktrack in a proper studio, recorded on Cubase.

what you could do is send me the individual .wav files, ie. guitars, drums, bass separately. Then I can Aphex it up.

I don't have the individual wavs, but I'll see if I can get them and then send them on to you.
