WARNING: The following is a rant. A REAL rant. One that may piss you the fuck off. But do I care? No. I don’t. You be the judge if you can handle it or not.

Screw the cut. As suggested by a good friend of mine, you all should see this. ♥

I am sick and fucking tired of people expecting actors/singers/bands/and other various celebrities to ( Read more... )

needed to be said- and it was said well.

i think the people who say things like that dont respect the artists at all and think they're our little playthings- either that and/or they're just plain shallow and only cared about their looks and the "fashion" of being a fan in the first place.

i'm all for fangirling and observing your fandom's stress-level/weight/habits/ect, i mean, theyre out there in public view and we wouldnt be human if we didnt observe their changes- but it's really none of our business how they conduct their lives or any of those other things i mentioned. its not up to us to govern how they look or what they do. and if you're gonna have rude insensitive comments about it, then you dont deserve to call youself a fan in the first place.

another point i want to make is that if bands, in particular dir en grey since you mentioned them, actually cared about catering to their fans and marketing themselves accordingly (and thats not to say that they dont care about their fans- but i mean if theyre gonna change the path of their artistic growth to follow what people might want) then they wouldnt be themselves- and im sure we wouldnt have half the things from them that we have now. they might as well be some all-singin-all-dancing boy band playing at malls in jersey (and i can say that cause i live in jersey ^_^)

thanks for your rant btw.

There's nothing I enjoy more than knowing someone else sees where I'm coming from.

So many people in this world have lost respect in general, but even more so when it comes to the celebrity world. It sickens me to view so many shallow, pretentious people day in day out. The way someone dresses does NOT equate to their talent/morals/personality.

I admit to having moments where I stop and ask myself, 'what the fuck?' when looking at new pictures of various bands, but I don't even THINK of questioning it. Or BITCHING about it in an open forum. Fans can be disappointed in works/looks, but true fans don't bother having a conniption fit when someone cuts their hair in a style they don't like, or gains a few pounds around the middle. It's bullshit.

No band should ever feel the need to change what THEY love because of someone else. It's so disturbing to see bands pumped out like candy just to make a buck or two, or gain some fame. Yes, bands do value their fans, but that doesn't mean they're going to change because said fans get pissy about something. And in Dir en grey's case, they LOVE their REAL fans. The fans that don't have a seizure when a little change is thrown into the mix; fans that understand people get tired and won't always be all over the place during a concert.

You don't have to be a fanatic to be a real fan; you just have to understand human nature, and go with the flow.

Thank you for understanding.

"The way someone dresses does NOT equate to their talent/morals/personality."

thankyou! it may make for good fanfiction but its not reality- and theyre not YOURS!

"You don't have to be a fanatic to be a real fan; you just have to understand human nature, and go with the flow."

so true- and it goes the other way around too, like when self-proclaimed hardcore fans call bands and people who like a band new style "sellouts" >_< just because youre a fanatic doesnt mean youre a real fan. (not to say that a real fan is just someone who eats up everything someone does <.<;;)

its good to quit the fangirling to talk about this stuff lol. substance is good.

Great fanfiction, BAD reality.

OH MY GOD, that's something else I was thinking about. I'm so fucking annoyed by these people that are all fanatically against a band JUST because they're major, and happen to get TIRED. Yes, indies band push themselves hard, but they don't have to deal with the cooperation pressure, management pressure, running around like chicken with their heads cut off to shoots/PVs/magazines/other promotional crap, ect. Getting ran around like that will make ANYONE tired as hell. That was so.. random of me. Sorry. lol

lol Fangirling can be fun as hell, but a good rant here and there really works out the kinks.
