My turn to show off my Slayers swag collection!

Feb 18, 2010 23:40

I've seen lots of other members show off their collection of Slayers swag (mainly cells and stuff) so I thought it would be fun to show off mine here, too.

Wow, the L/G poster looks fantastic! O_O I've only seen very low resolution versions of that picture so far, and it is even better than I imagined! :D

Oh yeah. There are details in the poster that I never noticed on the "L/G moonlight" pics I've found online. I tried to take a nice photo so everyone here could finally get a good look at it, too. :)

The moonlight poster looks cool. Hey I've got a question on the cels. Do you just have them hanging up like that? I only ask because I know cels and light don't mix very well even under uv glass

Does the light really hurt them? I figured they would be OK as long as they were protected from dust! O_o

Is it better to store them in a dark spot? I want to protect my cells (I have some other, non-Slayers cells hanging up in my house). But, at the same time, I want to show them off because it would be a shame to spend money on them just to hide them away. :(

Yes, sunlight and florecent light are two of a cels worst enemies. Some people elect to use uv protective glas and archival materials ( acid free matting board) and show them in areas that have only indirect sunlight. Others get a nice print done from their cels so that they can hang that up instead. The common thought is to make sure they are stored in those black art portfolio books ( hobby lobby has them) with either their background, or archival grade ( acid free) mounting board to prevent the cel from flexing. Cels should be in a specific type of bag (they sell for 50-100 of them for about $8-$15). Flexing as well as sunlight cause cels to loose their lines.
