Alex turned the photograph over and over in his hands, lost in his own thoughts. He watched it as it turned, watched Euris' and George's and Hamilcar's and his own face turn and vanish as he did so. The photograph was the last thing he had left from those days, besides his drive for revenge.
He'd already called for Susan Ivanova to come to his quarters. He had something important to tell her...but he wasn't looking forward to it. It meant sharing some of his secrets with her, which was something he was particularly bad at. But under the circumstances, he really didn't have much choice...
His thoughts were interrupted by a knocking on his door. He replaced the photograph on his desk, and said, "Come in."
