Against Shinku's better judgment, the Fifth doll decided to make a pact with the strange man who had found her the other day; He seemed all too pleased and was even more delighted at the prospect of possibly meeting her sisters. Really, such an energetic man. Shinku supposed she could have chosen someone worse, however.

Besides, it was rare that someone actually knew of the Rozen Maiden. It saved her the trouble of explaining herself to him, at the very least. Which left Shinku with more time to explain the city. Now that she had acquired a new medium, she did not have to worry about running out of energy.

And it was good timing too, for Shinku knew that she was not the only Rozen Maiden who had awakened. No, there was still...

Shinku stared up from where she was standing, watching as a familiar winged figure landed on top of a nearby building. It was only a matter of time before Suigintou would notice her.

Not wanting to involve the humans in what may be an ensuing battle, Shinku quickly moved into an alley. Suigintou would find her here, of course. All she had to do was wait, and wait Shinku did, patiently standing and watching the sky for her sister's arrival.

The games had begun.

Suigintou couldn’t help but laugh as she watched her movements. It was just like her to want to fight in a secluded area. But where was the fun in that? The lack of an audience would mean that nobody would be able to see Shinku being humiliated and defeated by a superior doll.

She would make her suffer, indeed.

Not wanting to wait any longer, Suigintou followed her sister into the alley and landing in front in of her.

“Are we playing cat and mouse already, Shinku?” she said, grinning.

"Unlike you, I do the honorable thing and not get innocents involved in our battles," Shinku replied coolly. "I also don't want to shame you when I win."

Of course, Shinku had no intention of taking her sister's Rosa Mystica. But she would not allow Suigintou to continue pursuing her - or, as her sister put it, play cat and mouse. Shinku was more than willing to settle this dispute right here and then, especially now that they were more evenly matched.

"You want to continue from where we left off, then?" Shinku held her hand out and her cane materialized in her hand, thanks to the power of Holie. "This time, I'm prepared. I will not lose to you."

"Don't you know that honor is pointless?" she laughed once again. "It keeps you from doing whatever it takes to win."

The end justified the means. For Suigintou, it was to win the Alice Game and defeat all of her sisters. She would do anything to accomplish this, to have Father acknowledge and praise her.

Anything.

"We'll see about that." Immediately, the doll pointed her black appendages towards Shinku. Countless arrow-like feathers shot out from her wings, and each was heading straight for her younger sibling.

"Honor is everything. Without it, a victory is meaningless," Shinku shot back. She could not expect Suigintou, who was as ruthless and cruel to others as she was loving to Father, to understand. Nevertheless, Shinku refused to stoop to the other doll's level.

Suigintou's attack was expected, and Shinku did not hesitate to call forth her powers. She threw up her free hand and a storm of blossoms erupted from it, circling around Shinku as a means to protect her from most of the feathers.

The blossoms did the trick, thanks to the power of her new medium, and Shinku charged forward to deal the next blow with a swing of her cane.

If Shinku thought she had remained the same for this past decade, she would soon realize just how mistaken she was.

Gathering several of black feathers in her hand, Suigintou held them together as they magically transformed into a sword. With her weapon, the doll rushed toward her sister and parried her swipe. Using a cane during combat, how ridiculous…

“You are not fit to become Alice!” she said, pushing against Shinku’s cane. “I’ll take your Roza Mystica, just like I took your brooch.”

The sword was new - Shinku didn't remember Suigintou having that weapon at her disposal in the past. But she had only fought the other doll once, so Shinku was forced to block the blow from the other Rozen Maiden just in time. They were at a stalemate now, pushing against each other with their respective weapons.

Or, they would have been, had Suigintou not mentioned the brooch. Fire flashed in her eyes as she pushed harder, the ill memories rekindling her anger.

"And what would you know of becoming Alice? You do not know the first thing about Father's wishes, even though you claim to love him so," Shinku shot back. "It would be expected from junk like you!"

"I know more than enough about him!" Suigintou had observed Father, ever since she was placed on that dark shelf, with the other incomplete dolls. She watched as he worked on each of her sisters, and how he seemed to favor Shinku.

Her well-made appearance would not last, though. She would make certain of that.

"I am not junk!" shouted the doll, breaking away only to take another swing at her.

[KLDSJDKALS I KNOW THIS TOOK ME OVER 9000 YEARS TO REPLY TO DKLSJDKLA.]

Shinku knew nothing of what Suigintou saw; she could only imagine the resentment that her elder sister must have felt. But at the moment, the fifth maiden didn't care as she violently pushed back against Suigintou, putting some space between them. For the sake of the Alice Game and Father's wishes, she would have to defeat Suigintou.

In Shinku's mind, Suiguntou knew nothing of being a proper lady. She could not become the perfect girl, not someone who took pleasure in beating down others.

It was a shame that the fith maiden failed to see the hypocrisy in her thinking as she held out her hand, sending out another burst of flower petals.

"So you say, but this battle will show what you truly are, Suigintou!"

What a silly thing to say. Suigintou already knew what she truly was. It was so simple, but perhaps that's why Shinku couldn't realize it.

She was destined to become Alice. It would be her, and no other.

As she sent feathers to counter the petals, the Rozen Maiden already started planning her next move. It would be stronger than her attacks, as she was growing tired of her sister's mouth. No doubt it would surprise her.

Which was good, as she wanted nothing more than to silence Shinku once and for all.
