When Winry had heard Naoto's voice over the journal system, she had known something was wrong. Exactly what, she wasn't entirely sure. She hadn't quite asked with what since she had becoming more concerned with helping her in person. Given the uncharacteristic tone that the woman had been using she was either down in the dumps or very ill--neither of which were good, and both of which the blonde was ready to do her best to remedy.

She had hurridly gone to the kitchen to get a large glass of whatever. Whatever it ended up being she felt it would help at least a little, and then went to Naoto's room. She gave a gentle knock on the door first.

"Naoto? It's me."

Considering she had been given the invite, she felt it would be okay to enter so she slowly opened the door to give Naoto time to protest should she be wrong, before stepping in.

Almost smiling at Winry's tentative knocking and voice, she replied just as gently, trying her best to mask the pained strain.

"Ah, Winry."

She shifted on the bed, hand rising to steady her shaking head while she did so and leaned her back against the wall behind her. She was definitely looking worse for wear with her disheveled hair and clothes but she managed to keep a strong front. It would do no good to have to have Winry see her in such a weakened state, and to have anyone else worry about her was..unnecessary.

Winry gently closed the door behind her and smiled warmly at Naoto. She looked quite worn out, definitely not how she was accustomed to seeing the strong figure, but it didn't seem to be anything dangerous which made her relax quite a bit. After all, Winry was use to sick people.

She approached to stand by Naoto's bedside, she held out the glass of water towards Naoto "Thought you might want this." She was significantly less worried about her now, but still wanting to make sure everything would be alright.

"Have any of the doctors come to see you, yet?"

Gently taking the glass of water from her hands, she took a sip, grateful as the cool water eased her clenching stomach. She placed the glass back down on the bedside table and motioned beside her.

"Thank you. You can...take a seat, if you'd like."

She rustled some of the sheets to make room for her and continued speaking.

"..ah, no, not yet. To be honest, I wasn't aware we even had a doctor on crew."

Winry sat down gratefully, pulling up a leg to fold in front of her and letting the other dangle off the side so that she wouldn't have her back to Naoto. Her words made her frown a little; she might have to have a word with their doctors, but it might just be because Naoto didn't inform them of her illness.

"We have too, both of them are relatively new though. I ought to see where they've gotten to." She said the last part as a murmur, more just an afterthought to herself. But for now she wanted to stay by Naoto's side to give her some company and make sure she would be alright. If she couldn't find them, she'd treat Naoto herself.

"What is it that you're feeling, exactly?" she asked, hoping she didn't seem like she was being intrusive.

Shifting and placing a hand on her stomach, she tilted her head to face the mechanic, her eyes becoming a little more alert.

"..a bit of a headache and some stomach pain. I'm not sure why I'm feeling this way, I..never really get sick."

And it was true. All her years under Fuyumine and she had been ill only once, shortly after her parents death. She couldn't remember any other time besides then where she felt this unwell, and so this confused her, what had she done differently?

"Well it happens to everyone every now and then. Honestly I'm surprised that there aren't more people who are sick. With everything that's happened I'm sure here is a lot of stress going around, and that can wear you down pretty easily even if you are taking good care of yourself." Winry nodded as she spoke. Stress, anxiety, worry, depression. Those things were in good abundance after the fight with the Victoria, and the disaster at Crapmork and such things could do wonders to a person's body.

The train of thought caused her to pause and wonder how much of that Naoto might be experiencing. She said she was not sure why she was feeling badly, so was it possible it was because of those things? If such were the case she had been doing an awfully good job at hiding it.

"Have you had a lot on your mind?" she questioned, the worry returning to her once more.

She didn't have it in her to lie (she never did) and she felt slightly uncomfortable with the worried tone in Winry's voice. Not even Fuyumine had ever consulted her like this when she was feeling downcast and the genuine sincerity was something rare to her.

She faltered.

Coughing into her hand, she avoided looking into her eyes when she spoke, voice quiet and muffled.

"....I..

....

..perhaps."

So it probably was that. It made her wonder what on earth was troubling the strong woman so much--to the point that it made her sick. Winry was awfully curious but she didn't think it was her place to ask. Should Naoto venture forth and speak of it then she would be more than happy to lend an ear but considering the hesitation it seemed like it was a pretty touchy subject.

"Well, if there's something I can do for you. Just ring a bell." she said casually, folding her hands on her lap.

Perhaps it was the fever that took hold of her or the oddity of the situation but Naoto found herself smiling and nodding. She leaned back fully against the wall and let a quiet sigh escape.

"...your presence is appreciated," she paused briefly, "but I don't think I'll use that bell. It sounds..very inhumane, actually."
