Being stationary gave him the chills.
Phoenix made his way to his captain's quarters excitedly. A new lead? A new adventure? Anything sounded good right then, but he was more than confident that whatever the captain (because he was the captain) had to offer would be well worth the wait.
Nick opened the door and strode in, narrowly avoiding tripping on the edge of the carpet. "Hey there, Captain! I heard you have some news for me."

Making sure to close the door carefully behind him, Sonic grinned, throwing something that was half a salute and half a wave, a gesture that had become common coming from the hedgehog.
"Got here soon as things were settled, Cap'n! Didn't miss anythin', did I?" he asks, smiling brightly.

Motioning for him to open up the map he went on, "I need you to plot us the quickest course from here, to the island of Teocuilatl!"
He leaned back on his desk and said to the both of them now. "I've caught word of an unimaginable treasure that rests there. Unfortunatly, I'm not the only one whose caught this word, so pretty soon the rest of Tortuga will be on their way. It's imperative we get there first."

"Treasure, you said?" he rested his chin in his hand thoughtfully, "Sounds like a good deal to me!"
Walking over to the desk, Phoenix took a closer look at the map. His brows furrowed in concentration momentarily, and he looked at his captain with a quizzically worried expression. "Wait....do you want the fastest course, or the course least likely to smash through Britannian airspace?"
Nick paused, thinking, and mumbled thoughtfully to himself, "I could go both ways, I suppose...."

"Unimaginable treasure..." he echoes, quietly, moving so he can peer, curiously, at the map Phoenix is looking over.
He can't help but smirk knowingly at the mumble and he looks from the navigator and up to Kurt instead, an ear flicking, thoughtfully.
"I don't think it'd much matter, all told, eh cap'n?" he says, voice somewhere between pleased but still serious.
"If we ain't the first ones t'have heard of this, we're gonna haveta be ready. Every blackheart in Tortuga is gonna be chasin' it and they ain't gonna be wantin' t'share information over tea and crumpets with their competition, either..."
