You'd have to be deaf not to hear the clamoring and the freakishly loud thundering of footsteps made by Yuffie as she zipped down to the kitchen, stomping upon the poor floors of the Winding Way.

Slamming the doors open she breathed heavily, leaning against the frame to catch her breath.

"AM...", heaaaaaaave and a deep inhaling, "I...", exhale, "TOO LATE?"

Watanuki looked up in alarm - oh god was somebody else here to destroy things in his galley? - and was somewhat relieved to see that it was only Yuffie. "No, the soup's still hot. And quit running! People are trying to enjoy themselves, here!" He glared at her as he pulled down a bowl for her and filled it with soup.

Yuffie grinned so hard her face almost split and quickly took the bowl from his hands.

She eagerly took a sip and recoiled immediately.

"HOT. HOT, HOT, HOT--oh ow my tongue."

"I just TOLD you it was hot!" Watanuki thrust a spoon at her. "Here! In civilized places, like my galley, we use these!"

Sniffing about wildly, she held the bowl close to her chest and looked up at him.

"No thanks about the spoon, but oh my god are those roast potatoes I smell, Watanuki?"

She sidestepped him and peered around, still sniffing intently.

Watanuki glanced behind him, still holding out the spoon. The potatoes were in a large serving bowl next to the cider. "Yes, those are roast potatoes, and they are hot, too. Which is why you should take this." He held the spoon in front of her line of vision again and shook it. "And a fork, too."

Looking at the serving bowl and back at the spoon she wavered undecidely before reaching out for the utensil.

"Alright okay, fine."

She took another sip from the bowl, more wary this time of its temperature, but still without the aid of the spoon.

"You been cooking up a storm, huh? Pretty spiffy."
