Yuffie walked slowly, taking her time to get to the top deck of the ship while twirling a spare kunai in her fingers as she climbed the steps. Weird, she didn't even expect the creeper to have experience with weapons let alone willingly give her shuriken a checkover.

But Yuffie wasn't the type to take a gift for granted and she grinned as she approached the other girl, the insults already formulating in her head.

"Hey, creepster!"

"That's not my name!" Kurumi snapped, her purple-pink eyes twitching. "And you took forever. You should be more grateful." She walked over and looked at the weapon. "That's a lot bigger than normal. Why do you use something like that?" She had to admit, it was interesting. Interesting meant she wouldn't fall out of practice.

Yuffie leaned closer to inspect the irritated teen and snorted upon closer examination.

"Yikes, you weren't kidding when ya said I wouldn't miss you. Those clothes--gee--what a way to grab attention, creeper!"

She gave a short laugh before straightening up again, her grin fading away to a slightly more serious face.

"And hey, listen..

..don't manhandle it, kay? This baby's been with me through lots of things so be careful with it."

Raising her arm back she pulled out her four-point shuriken, large and angled with spikes at the tips accentuating its deadliness.

"Hmph." Kurumi made a face. "They're very nice. Better than yours; you look like some kind of pirate. And it's better to have attention than to be in the background, you know." At least she wasn't in costume; that would really stand out. She looked over the weapon and held out her arms.

"Of course I'm not going to break it. What do you take me for?"

"I'd rather look like a pirate than look like some reject from a soap-opera..

..a very frilly soap opera."

Carefully reaching out, she tenderly gave the shuriken to Kurumi, pouting a bit as she did so.

"..me? I take you for a creeper. A creeper with my most favorite weapon. Hey, keep your hands off of the mana crystals too. I'm watching you!"

"It's pretty," Kurumi grumbled. "And I'm not a creeper, already!" She pulled out her toolbox and looked it over. "I'm not stealing any mana crystals, either." Under her breath, she added, "That was one time."

It wasn't particularly hard to catch her muttered words, especially given when Yuffie was leaning over her so closely to watch for any suspicious activity and the fact that she, of course, being the amazing ninja she was kinda had super awesome hearing skills.

...

"WHAT?" she yelped, instinctively reaching out to pluck the mana crystals from out of their slots in her shuriken.

"Don't think I didn't hear that Mc Frilly! I'll just be holding onto these little guys myself, thanks.."

She sniffed and gave Kurumi a hostile look.

"And I'm very serious when I say to be careful with it!"

"I wasn't gonna steal them!" She glared and grumbled some more, turning over the weapon and taking out one of her tools. "You have a few dents and scratches, but there isn't anything really wrong with it so far." Kurumi tapped it a few times, frowned, and put it down before closing her eyes.

Pop.

A puff of smoke cleared away, and where the girl had been was a small, pink, fluffy little creature, still holding the hammer that was now half her size. She narrowed her eyes and got working as if nothing had happened to her.

"Yeah, yeah, that's what they all sa--"

Yuffie froze midsentence when the puff of smoke arose and coughed loudly as it blew in her face.

"What the hell!"

Still covering her eyes, she waved most of the smoke away and muttered angrily.

"The hell was that all abo-ooahh?!"

What. The. Hell. Was. That.

Gawking at the small...thing Yuffie almost flew back, arms still flailing and waving around in a vain attempt to keep balance.

"I work like this ~miru," the creature that had been Kurumi shrugged, tapping away at the shuriken and occasionally stopping to look over her work again. "It's easier ~miru." She didn't bother to apologize for the smoke. Served her right for thinking she was going to steal something.

Yuffie continued her staring before gathering her guts and reaching out, grabbing Kurumi from the back and picking her up inches away from her face.

"...is that really you?"

"Ow! Hey! Put me down ~miru!" The little pink thing flailed her little limbs and flapped her humongous ears. "Of course it's me ~miru!"

Crouching down now with Kurumi still hanging from her left hand, she squinted at the small, fluffy creature.

"Yeaaaaaaaaah, I'm not buying that. How about you explain what that--"

She pointed towards the toolbox and the spot where the smoke had been moments earlier, disbelief still etched on her features.

"--was all about first."

She crossed her arms and pouted. "I thought it was obvious ~miru. It's easier to work like this because I'm used to it. This is the real me ~miru."

Yuffie scoffed.

"Obvious?! Sorry but where I'm from, creepy little girls don't magically transform into small fuzzy little things. Then again you are a creepster so maybe your hometown is a completely different place to begin with.."
