After his conversation with Nunnally, Heihachi had expected a bit more out of the rest of the political dignitaries at the ball, but despite his keen attempts to engage others on the topic of the peace talks he’d encountered a surprising amount of resistance.

People were being very careful about their wording, twisting their opinions to be so inoffensive that they really said nothing at all and speaking in circles that were starting to test even his patience. It said something that he’d had a much more welcoming conversation with one of the university students that had snuck in to steal from the buffet table than with any of the stuffed shirts who were supposed to be smoothing over the relations between Vohemar and Ivona.

At least the food had been good, as he’d cheerfully said to anyone within earshot during banquet. Now it was just a matter of waiting out the last couple of hours and helping to drag back any member of the crew that had overindulged at the bar. He supposed having the night pass by without too much excitement was better than having it end in disaster.
