Milk didn't know what to think about first.

I'm writing to you again today, after... well, you'll know what's happened. Everyone else does.

The world had changed again. She'd started to be afraid of things that shook up the way it was, things other than her grand vision of what she wanted to be. This time, though, she knew what they were seeing was the happy ending they'd been after. Just like she'd said.

I knew it would turn out alright. Didn't you trust me?

The Milky Mirror lay, cleaned and polished, on the dresser. Milk was in her original form, writing away with a pen that was half her own height and occasionally munching on a bar of stolen baking chocolate.

A lot of things have changed over the past three years, but some things stayed the same.

Like now being eighteen years old and still flat.

But overall, I think I'm happier now. What about you? You'd better be happy together, alright? I won't forgive it if you're not! Anyway, I'm sure you're fine. Even when you needed help and wouldn't admit it, you always had people who cared about you.

Milk took a deep breath, looked at the pen, and scribbled the rest of the letter before folding it up and putting it in a matching envelope. She stamped a seal on it and hopped out of her bedroom to run down the halls.

I still don't really know if it was just a coincidence that started all this off, or if somebody somewhere meant to send me into this story, but maybe I should believe the latter. It's more exciting that way.

She stood at the top of the ladder and hesitated.

I miss you. I'll see you again!

For the first time in the three years that she'd held a human form, Milk -- not Mimino Kurumi, not Milky Rose, but a tiny pink rabbit creature -- ran down off of the ship and into a town full of people.

After finding Kimi and letting her hat fly off the edge, Rikku had gone back into the town to enjoy the day (and the looks people who knew her gave her new haircut). She wasn't paying attention to the ground, naturally, and so didn't see the tiny pink rabbit creature until she'd tripped over it.

Oh well, at least her hair wasn't going to fall down, now.

"Hey!" Milk jumped and waved her paw angrily at Rikku, holding her bruising ear with the other paw. "Watch where you're going ~miru!"

"Oh, sorry, Mi--wait why're you a bunny and not a human right now?" Rikku rolled over and just sat on the ground, staring at Milk. "Did you sneeze again or something?"

"Maybe I just felt like it ~miru. I used to go around like this all the time, you know ~miru." Milk crossed her stubby arms.

Reaching up to adjust her pins, Rikku bit her lip. "But never in public like this, not since you joined the Way, at least," she pointed out.

"...well... hmph." Milk blushed and looked away. "Maybe I just wanted to ~miru. I'm allowed. What happened to your hair?"

"I cut it," was Rikku's answer. She wasn't sure if Milk knew why she hadn't cut it before, but if she didn't, Rikku could explain.

"If you can suddenly decide to get a haircut, then I can suddenly decide to leave the ship like this ~miru," Milk said. "Why did you do that, then ~miru?"

So Rikku explained--about her mom and Rikku's decision not to cut her hair until she found someone special--and how now that the world was saved (and she had Shuuhei), Rikku had figured now was as good a time as any to cut it.

Milk just blinked and stared.

"Rikku..."

She spun around and crossed her tiny arms. "And you people kept telling me not to act like a character in a story ~miru!"

"Huh?" Rikku giggled. "What're you talking about, Milk?"

"You know what I'm talking about ~miru! You're acting like the heroine of a romance novel ~miru!" Milk smiled, though, and climbed up onto a mailbox to get up higher. "Geez ~miru."

"Am not!" Rikku stood and plucked Milk off the mailbox, putting her on her shoulder. "It was just the best time! Miru!" She stuck her tongue out.

"Quit that ~miru!" Milk flailed and poked Rikku in the face. "Geez. This is going to get hard to get used to ~miru."

Rikku laughed. "Used to? Are you going to stop being Kurumi?"
