Teaming up with Oichi! We would like a Satyr, please~! invincible_kuro March 2 2011, 16:22:57 UTC
Kuro was too small to be any help with getting the captive out of the area, so when signal for attack came, Kuro did what he did best.

He jumped onto the rock he had been hiding behind until just now and opened fire, not really aiming for anything in general, trying more to create a distraction for the rescuers.

To be honest, Oichi didn't really care what happened to the prisoner. She didn't even know this person, and her world wouldn't become any emptier without them. But if people from the ship didn't make it back...that would be a problem...it would become lonelier, she was certain of it.

So she sat carefully on a rock, watching just in case anyone she actually knew needed help.

When he noticed Oichi sitting there, he stopped shooting for a moment and turned to her.

"Oi, if you're just going to sit there and nothing you can do that back on the ship."

Worried? Perish the thought! He was just annoyed, that's all.

The distraction worked.

One of the satyrs was hit with Kuro's gunfire. Gripping its wounded shoulder with a clawed hand, it turned to face the small feline, snarling. Injured and enraged, it didn't bother with an energy attack. Instead, it lunged for Kuro, lashing out at the cat with its uninjured arm.

And the satyr was met with a heavy open-palm push from a large black hand that was more substantial that it looked.

Oichi herself stayed in the exact same position on the rock, barely even registering what she had just done, her head tilted slightly to the side, "Ichi...isn't doing nothing if Ichi is sitting, Mister Cat..."

Kuro's ear twitched when he caught a snarl. He turned, raising his hand-cannon.

"Damnitt! Do you min--" The rest of his statement trailed off when he saw a giant black hand come out of nowhere. For a moment all he did was gape.

What the hell...?

Still, he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth...that push, even if it worked, wasn't going to kill anything. So he aimed and fired on the satyr.

He glanced at Oichi out of the corner of his eye, and called back, "The point is, you're not doing anything besides sitting there!"

Startled by the appearance of the hand, the satyr stumbled back, only to be hit in the chest by still more gunfire. Weak to mechanical attacks, it hissed in pain. Black, rank blood stained the skin around the wounds.

"What trickery is this...?" it growled. "Who did that?!"

Completely ignoring the satyr, Oichi shifted her position so her hands were behind her, pushed and jumped off the rock. Landing on the ground, she stumbled a bit. Righting herself with a hand on the rock, she looked at Kuro, "Then...what is Ichi supposed to do, Mister Cat...?"

Clearly visible on the ground, connecting Oichi and the now idling black hand was a long line of shadow.

What he had meant to say was, 'Going back to the ship, idiot!'

But then he noticed the way the hand stretched all the way back to her feet.

No way.

Actually...it wouldn't be the strangest thing that had ever happened to him. So...why the hell not?

"Just...whatever." Was what he said to Oichi. Then he turned back to the satyr.

"Che. So annoying." Then he lifted his hand-cannon again, this thing seemed weak against gunfire so...

Click.

...crap. He forgot to replace the clips again, didn't he?

He threw the hand-cannon away and prepared to reach for his sword.

Its eyes followed the line of shadow to the girl sitting on the rock. He hadn't thought she was a priority, but if she was using magic against him...

The annoying little cat was out of ammunition. The satyr made a decision: the girl was the more dangerous of the two. Half-blinded by rage and pain, it bounded toward Oichi, claws slashing at her this time.

If Kuro had told her to go back to the ship, she probably would have complied. Then she would have doubled back a bit later as if she had never even heard him ask her to leave.

With her back to the rock, there wasn't really anywhere she could dodge to. Her expression didn't even change as she turned towards the oncoming satyr. Another hand sprouted beside the other one and aimed a heavy back-handed blow at the satyr.

He cursed when he saw the direction the satyr was lunging in.

Kuro was moving to plant himself in front of Oichi before he had drawn the sword halfway out of the space in his body.

"Hey! Your fight's with me!"

He raised his sword to intercept the blow...and his moment was ruined by the appearance of another giant black hand.

Well.

At least if it didn't work he was here, ready to block. He kept his weight off his heels, ready to lunge if Oichi's strike lands.

The satyr didn't even see it coming. Struck by the blow, it stumbled, casting about to see what had hit it.

Oichi watched the satyr stumble, her expression puzzled, "Mister Horse...what are you doing? Are we fighting?"

Unlike Oichi, he didn't stop to watch the satyr stumble. As soon as he saw the hand land a hit, Kuro darted forward, jumped and brought his sword up. Technically, as a clockwork cat he had no adrenaline, but he still felt a rush whenever he fought. A large, unpleasant grin spread over Kuro's face as his sword came down in a strike aimed for the satyr's shoulder, hoping to sever the arm.

"What are you looking at? I'm right here!"

The satyr's eyes went from the black hand to Kuro's blade, but too late. It howled in pain as the sword cut into its skin. The first strike didn't sever the arm completely, but it was damaged enough to be rendered useless. The limb was only clinging on by a few unbroken tendons.

"I'll kill you," it snarled, leaping to its feet and bringing its remaining arm around to slash at Kuro, Oichi forgotten. "Foolish animal--!"
