Now it was time to meet his new coworker. He raised his fist and gave a sharp knock against the door.

His main job, however, wasn't dealing with visitors, so he didn't bother getting up from his current position on the floor with a pile of papers in his lap until he saw it was someone who did require his immediate attention, not just one of the crewmembers with a question or Ulquiorra coming by to check on him.
Seeing the stranger, he got up, leaving the papers on the floor to finish dealing with later, and made his way to the door. He took in his appearance with a glance - the missing arm, the tension, a bit of impatience - but his reaction was no more than would be expected in an encounter with someone new.
"Hello. I'm Justin Walker," not his real name, but he was used to it enough that it might as well be, "the current record-keeper. Would you be my new co-worker?"

At that, he offered his good hand to shake. In a moment he'd look around and make his own judgments on his new surroundings, but for now, he still had to take care of introductions.

"Pleased to meet you." A year ago, he would have automatically added 'sir' with someone older than him and with that manner, but he'd managed to get over the habit. They were just coworkers.

"And you as well, Mister Walker," he replied, his tone not unfriendly. "How long have you been the record keeper here?"
